The Cereal City Lions participated in the Battle Creek DPW’s styrofoam recycling project on Saturday, October 24. Participating Lions were Scott and Hope Swank, Mike Guzak, Dianne Sweeter, and Roger and Dorothy Bosse. Lion Bryan organized the project with the city, but could not be present. Residents were excited to get the new Calhoun County Recycling Guide, which lists locations to recycle all kinds of materials.

Cereal City Lions at Work!
It was a cool but sunny morning for working on our gardens at Binder Park Zoo! Many hands (and backs) make light work. We trimmed old plants and planted new, took down signs and fencing, and watered. The Dinosaur area will be awesome next spring!

A huge Thank You to all who donated to the Cereal City Lions White Cane fundraiser at Horrock’s on October 2nd & 3rd. You have allowed us to help many folks in the community this year!
Our sincere thanks to Horrock’s for allowing us to collect at their doors. The weather was perfect! We saw many young people leaving the store with beautiful bouquets probably headed for area schools having Homecoming!

Cereal City Lions celebrated 68 years of service last night during our Charter Night party at the Bedford Lions Hall! We enjoyed socializing with members and guests. Snacks and cake were also enjoyed! Lion Roger Bosse showed slides of our club's early years. Service Chair Al Roeseler explained the 8 Pillars of Service and how our club did service in each of the areas last year. Immediate Past District Governor Bea Furman presented us with a Club Excellence Award, explaining that we were the only District 11-B1 Club to receive this award from LCI this year! President Hope Swank gave everyone a "You Make a Difference" pin and presented certificates to those Lions with 20 or more years of service. Dressed in the Lion costume, Dorothy Bosse collected donations for Lions Clubs International Foundation which supports Lions causes world-wide.
