We have big news!
Songs of Survivors is one of 48 organizations across the U.S. that was awarded a Creative Forces Community Engagement Grant, part of the Creative Forces©: National Endowment for the Arts Mility Healing Arts Network. This grant will fund five songwriting workshops with military veterans who live at Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs (LDVA) facilities across Louisiana. Songs of Survivors has a longstanding partnership with the LDVA, and the Creative Forces grant, along with matching funds from Songs of Survivors, will enable the organization to facilitate 10 songwriting workshops over the next year. Creative Forces grants support community-based arts projects that aim to address the experiences, challenges, and strengths of our military communities. This initiative awarded 48 grants to organizations totaling more than $888,000. The Creative Forces Community Engagement Grant program is managed by Mid-America Arts Alliance.
