Did you know of the estimated 10 million construction workers in the United States, only 10.9% of them are women?
Due to the disheartening amount of women working in this line of work, Nnenna Eke, an incoming senior of Louisiana State University, started an organization where women can come together from all different backgrounds to become the catalyst for the change of diversity throughout the world of construction.
Established in April of 2023, nine students came together to make something that started as an idea, to a fully functioning organization now recognized as SWICE: Society of Women In Construction Engineering! Our mission is to promote self confidence, academic achievement, and assurance amongst women who are working towards their careers in construction.
