Spring 2025

Hi Everyone,
It’s that time of year again! Time to get our beautiful cemetery ready for the summer and mowing! Our annual workday will be April 5th (rain date is April 12.) 8am till? So, let's gather our yard tools and family members and get the cleanup done!
Thanks everyone, you do a fantastic job in supporting our cemetery.
Shawn & Chasity Hastings will be mowing again this year. They do a great job, and we appreciate them so much.
Care of the Graves:
It’s the family’s responsibility to care for the individual graves. All graves need to be kept in good shape by filling holes, cleaning around them, and disposing of old flowers properly. When a new grave is dug make sure that no harm is done to the existing graves around them. Rock, gravel, landscape timbers, or any type of trim isn’t allowed around gravesites. Items that impede mowing will be removed. Worn or broken items will be removed as needed. Please contact one of the committee members with questions or concerns.
Donations:
Donations are a necessary part of the upkeep of the cemetery. All donations go toward the mowing and maintenance of the cemetery unless designated otherwise. Memorial cards are available to be sent if you would like to donate in memory of someone. Your donation may be deposited in the Barnes Cemetery Fund at the Citizens Bank or may be sent to:

The land was donated to provide burial for the surrounding community. When marking plots please contact one or more of the committee members before doing so. Board member(s) can assist and be certain you don’t intrude on someone else’s area. Keep in mind the only sure way to mark a plot is to mark it with a permanent headstone. Markers should be kept clear of grass/dirt and be visible. Please be respectful and don’t reserve or open a grave without contacting a committee member.
Purpose of the Barnes Cemetery Committee:
To help in the preservation and upkeep of our cemetery and help in selecting burial plots. The committee oversees the needs of the cemetery to keep it well maintained and beautiful.
