What an incredible morning!

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out and supported our first-ever First Due 5K. Whether you ran, walked, volunteered, sponsored, donated, or simply cheered from the sidelines, you helped make this event a tremendous success.

The support from our community means more than we can put into words. Because of your generosity and participation, we were able to award three training scholarships that will help remove financial barriers for students pursuing careers in public safety. That impact will continue long after race day.

To our sponsors, vendors, volunteers, cadets, staff, and every participant who spent their Saturday morning with us - thank you for believing in our mission and investing in the future of public safety.

These are just a few highlights from today’s event, with many more photos still to come. We can’t wait to share them with you!

From all of us at Texas Public Safety Training Academy, thank you for helping make our first First Due 5K one to remember. ❤️🚒🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

• CLASS 03-26 •

Yesterday our fire cadets learned how to connect hoses from the fire truck to a water source and how to safely advance hoses into a fire scene to begin putting the fire out.

These are the skills firefighters rely on when seconds matter. Proud of the hard work this class continues to show. 👏🔥

Fox Valley Technical College students performed CPR and used an AED after longtime EMS instructor Karl Arps went into cardiac arrest during class.

“What can I say to six students that saved my life?” Arps said. “Thank you doesn’t seem like enough. They learned it correctly and they put it into action. It’s something that I will never forget.”
