Camden Bailey Race 2 Cure Osteosarcoma March 8th at Cranmore Mtn.

This will be a fun, family event intended for all ages and ability levels (skiers & snowboarders welcome). The race entry fee includes a lift ticket valid for the day. Registration can be done using the QR Code on the attached flyer or by visiting camdenbaileycancerfoundation.org

Along with raising money to support research, some of the funds raised will go to support local scholarships for Kennett graduates. The first Camden Bailey Scholarship will be awarded this June.

The PTO Meeting for Thursday, March 12th is cancelled due to Town Meeting. The next PTO meeting is Thursday, April 9th. All JBES teachers, staff, and parents are invited!

🗳️Bartlett School District Annual Meeting – Warrant Article Results📚

Thank you to everyone who attended and participated in the annual school district meeting. Community involvement is what makes local decision making possible.

Here is a summary of the results:

✔ Article 1 (School Budget) – Passed with an amendment adding $7,000 to reinstate the Middle School sports contract.

✔ Articles 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 – Passed
• Special Education Capital Reserve Fund
• Maintenance Trust Fund
• Playground & Outdoor Activities Trust Fund
• Purchase of a new school bus
• Open enrollment provisions
• High school tuition agreement with Conway
• Middle school tuition agreement with Jackson

❌ Articles 9, 10, and 11 – Did not pass❌

• Article 9: Proposed raising $500,000 to increase staff pay and positions.

• Article 10: Proposed creating a $300,000 trust fund for staff salary/benefit increases using existing fund balance.

• Article 11: Proposed allowing students to attend a high school of their choice with the district paying 80% of the state per-pupil cost.

✔ Article 12 – Amended and passed

*During discussion of Article 12, legal counsel indicated that the petitioned article appeared to have procedural issues and may not have followed the proper legal process. It was suggested that amending the article would provide a more productive path forward. As a result, the article was amended to instead direct the Bartlett School District to form a committee to investigate the possibility of leaving SAU 9 and explore potential options before any formal action is considered.*
