COMPLAINT TO THE MICHIGAN STATE POLICE – PUBLIC CORRUPTION UNIT
To: Michigan State Police – Public Corruption Unit
Michigan State Police
P.O. Box 30634
Lansing, MI 48909
Subject: Complaint – Potential Municipal Misconduct by City of Charlotte Council
Date: October 9, 2026
To the Public Corruption Unit:
I am submitting this complaint regarding potential municipal misconduct by the City of Charlotte City Council.
Summary of Concerns
1. Council members have publicly stated that official minutes do not reflect what is said during meetings.
2. Minutes appear to be intentionally altered or selectively edited.
3. Required actions, motions, and discussions are omitted from the public record.
4. These actions may constitute:
o Abuse of authority
o Falsification of public records
o Violations of OMA and FOIA
o Coordinated concealment of official actions
Reason for MSP Involvement
Local oversight is compromised due to personal relationships among council members. External investigation is necessary to determine whether misconduct or corruption is occurring.
Requested Action
I request that MSP review the council’s practices, obtain meeting recordings, and investigate whether criminal violations have occurred.
Sincerely, Frederick [Last Name] Charlotte, MI

For decades, journalists portrayed Appalachia as impoverished and backward, Andrew Aoyama writes. In 2022, the photographer Stacy Kranitz resisted these stereotypes—and the act of mythmaking itself. https://theatln.tc/LQC2ShfY
