🌊 Swiftwater Rescue Training & Water Safety 🚒
The Antonia Fire Protection District, along with several other agencies throughout Jefferson County, recently participated in swiftwater rescue training.
Members from departments across the county were on hand to practice and strengthen their skills in fast-moving water, including techniques used to safely rescue civilians who may find themselves in need of assistance. Training like this helps our first responders stay prepared for the challenges they may face when someone’s life is on the line.
As always, our first responders remind everyone who chooses to enjoy the water to use extreme caution and practice proper water safety. Always wear an appropriate personal flotation device, never enter fast-moving water alone, and be aware that conditions can change quickly.
☀️ While summertime may be winding down and swimming pools may be closing, there are still plenty of opportunities for people to enjoy lakes, rivers, creeks, and other bodies of water. Please remember that water safety doesn’t have an off-season. Know your surroundings, understand the conditions, and make safety a priority.
The Antonia Fire Protection District is proud to train alongside our neighboring agencies and work together to keep our communities safe.
❤️ As always, we thank our community and citizens for your continued support of the Antonia Fire Protection District. Your support means so much to us!
🚒 Stay safe. Stay alert. And enjoy the water responsibly! 🌊
