Dog Tags New York Help Heal the wounded soldier whose damages are unseen thru therapeutic and meaningful work with animals. With peer support and interaction.

And most importantly, with the support of the community and civilians that partake and engage in our program. Our dogs are not service dogs or therapy dogs, they are shelter dogs that are like the Vets in so many ways. They are stygmatized, misunderstood - not so good thing have happened to them; yet you you could have no greater friend. To quote one of the combat Veterans in the program:
"I like working with these dogs because ther were throw aways just like me"

A big congratulations to Army Veteran Darren Kolek and his dog Bruce for graduating from the intermediate level, and to Army Veteran Nathan Strange and his dog Sugar for graduating basic obedience. It was great to see both pairs grow and become more confident in each other over the past six weeks. A very special thank you needs to go out to Kathy Galbraith at Niagara K9 Training Center and our very own retired Air Force Veteran Suzanne Laba for all their assistance and knowledge; we couldn’t be more grateful.

Yesterday, we had an absolute blast attending the 3rd Annual Veterans Expo at Daemon College. This event was a great way for us to network with other non-profits in WNY and VA resource groups who also assist veterans. To no surprise, our three pups, Winston, Tilla, and Mavis, were a big hit with everyone at this event. A special thanks needs to go out to Retired Coast Guard Veteran and Director of Veterans Services at Daemon College, Robyn Swan, for putting this all together.

Today we visited ECC's North Campus and took part in their Mind, Body, and Spirit event. Tilla and Winston were on duty, and their mission was to make people smile. Mission accomplished 😊
