Mobility India (MI) is a registered society, established in August 1994, and has been a progressive force in bringing about a change in the disability, rehabilitation and development sector with a f

ocus on empowerment, inclusion and participation of people with disabilities. MI’s Rehabilitation Research and Training Centre in Bengaluru is a model of disability friendliness, and spearheads all activities of the origination. MI’s Regional Resource Centre in Kolkata caters to the rehabilitation needs of the relatively backward North-Eastern Region. MI also has field offices in urban slums of Bangalore, Jigani, Anekal Taluk and Chamarajanagar (Karnataka) and Garden Reach (Kolkata). Mobility India conducted a 𝐅𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐭 𝐒𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝟐𝟖 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐚𝐭 𝐇𝐚𝐤𝐤𝐢 𝐏𝐢𝐤𝐤𝐢 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐲, 𝐊𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐢 for elderly people and individuals living with diabetes.

The programme focused on early identification of fall risks and screening for diabetic foot conditions to help prevent serious complications. As part of the intervention, 𝟒𝟏 𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐬 of diabetic footwear were provided to community members who needed appropriate foot protection, along with guidance on proper use.

A total of 𝟔𝟖 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 were screened during the programme.

Through community-level preventive care, Mobility India continues to support better mobility, safer movement, and improved quality of life for elderly people and persons with diabetes.

It was truly an amazing and memorable day, featuring demonstrations of innovative wheelchair solutions by 𝐌𝐫 𝐒𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐚𝐠𝐚, 𝐂𝐨-𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 & 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫, 𝐍𝐞𝐨𝐌𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

We also heard heartfelt insights from two wheelchair users, 𝐌𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐫 𝐊𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐧, who shared their personal journeys, emphasising their needs and how mobility solutions have supported their independence and lifestyle. The event was filled with awareness, learning, and inspiration. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all participants for their time, energy, and enthusiasm in making this event a grand success.
