Paws Across Baltimore - A Pet Support Project

Help! Your recycling could make a big difference for our cats today. 📦🐱 BARCS desperately needs clean cardboard flats—the shallow trays that hold cases of b**r, soda and other canned goods. We use them as disposable litter boxes, and we have no clean ones left today.

We’ve been at capacity for cats and are going through these rapidly. Replacing them daily helps our small staff keep up with cleaning and sanitizing hundreds of cat kennels.

Check with your local liquor store, grocery store or warehouse club for empty trays. The lids from copy paper boxes work, too!

(Our staff is not able to pick up boxes, so while we appreciate brainstorming places to find them in the comments, please know we need members of the community or volunteers to collaborate on getting them to us! Thank you for understanding.)

A $10 microchip can make the difference between a lost pet finding their way home and never making it back. And keeping pets vaccinated protects not only them, but other animals throughout our community.

Today, The Baltimore Banner shared the story behind Paws Across Baltimore and our growing network of community pet pantries. Today, I received a call from a local crisis management center looking for help feeding a resident's service dog. They told me they found us through this article.

Moments like that remind me why this work matters. What started as one little pantry has grown into a network of neighbors helping neighbors keep their pets fed and together.

Thank you to everyone who has donated food, hosted a pantry, shared a post, or simply helped spread the word. None of this would be possible without this incredible community. ❤️🐾

🎉🐾 Another pet pantry joins the Paws Across Baltimore network!

We're excited to welcome Tammy's Pantry, located inside Red Emma's Bookstore Coffeehouse in Baltimore!

Unlike our outdoor pantries, Tammy's Pantry is an indoor community pet pantry, located near the Bmore Network Community Fridge and available during Red Emma's business hours.

This pantry is a collaboration between Cat Ladies for America - Charm City Chapter and Red Emma's, helping provide free pet food to neighbors in need.

The Maryland SPCA is hosting a seminar focused on understanding and preventing separation distress in dogs and puppies.

BARCS Animal Shelter will be hosting a Low-Cost Vaccine & Microchip Clinic at Carroll Park on Saturday, June 6th starting at 9:00 AM.

This pantry joins the network as pet pantry #7, helping provide free pet food, supplies, toys, collars, leashes, and more to families and their beloved pets.
