This isn’t just a farmers market—it’s a community gathering focused on making fresh, healthy, and affordable food more accessible to our neighbors. With offering 75% produce vendors, this is an opportunity to support small local farmers and cut out the middle-men in accessing healthy food.

💚 WHY DOES THIS MATTER?

Oliver and surrounding East Baltimore communities face significant barriers to accessing healthy, affordable food being in a food desert. And the need is becoming even more urgent with grocery stores closing all around the area. That’s why we’re bringing the market into the community.

Come out for an evening of fresh produce, food trucks, activities, a kids zone, live music, farm tours, and community! There will be something for all ages. 🌽🎶👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

This pilot is an opportunity to listen, learn, and show what is possible when food-access solutions are built with the community and responsive to what our neighborhoods need.

The newly adopted unified Historic Oliver Alliance represents an important step forward for our community. Now, we’re looking for people from Oliver who are ready to roll up their sleeves, share their voices, and help shape the future of our neighborhood.

We are opening the door for residents and community partners to express their interest in serving on the new Oliver Neighborhood Board.

🙋🏾‍♀️ WE NEED YOUR VOICE. WE NEED YOUR LEADERSHIP.

Historic Oliver Moves Forward — Together! 🏘️💙

On behalf of The People’s Association of Oliver Community, in partnership with the Historic Oliver Community Association, we extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who joined us for our Merger Town Hall on September 3, 2026.

Your presence, questions, ideas, and commitment to the future of Historic Oliver made the evening meaningful and truly grounded in resident voice.

What We Accomplished Together

We took important steps forward as a community:

📜 Reviewed and refined our bylaws to strengthen community accountability, equitable decision-making, and transparency.
🤝 Adopted a new name: Historic Oliver Alliance — honoring our shared histories while reflecting our collective vision for the future.
⚖️ Continued building on the expert guidance of the Community Law Center, Inc. (CLC) throughout this merger process.

A Special Thank You

We are deeply grateful to Knox Presbyterian Church for opening its doors and providing a welcoming and accessible space for this important gathering.

We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to the office of Councilman Jermaine A. Jones for their ongoing support and The Community Group Inc.., for providing food for our community throughout the evening.

These partnerships reflect the collaboration, generosity, and mutual care that make Historic Oliver special. ❤️

What Comes Next
The work ahead is shaped by what residents told us matters most:

In the coming weeks, we’ll share more about the Historic Oliver Alliance, including organizational details, board structure, upcoming meetings, community initiatives, and opportunities for residents to serve on committees and help shape our priorities.
