Today marks TWO YEARS since what started as a simple act of providing housing to returning citizens… and has now grown into Mavrik Village.
This was never part of my plan, but God had a different plan and nudged me forward.
On March 17, 2024 (smiling after in the pic), I quietly and nervously accepted my very first resident. He had served 38 years, was gainfully employed, and still faced housing insecurity. That moment changed everything. I celebrated with an ice cream cone.🍦😊
Being obedient hasn’t always been easy. There have been challenges, lessons, and moments of uncertainty. But what has remained crystal clear is this:
I have never been left or forsaken.
I have been covered, favored, protected, and blessed beyond measure. But God!!!🙌🏾
Along this journey, I’ve had the privilege of housing individuals who are often denied opportunities because of their past. And while I would be lying if I said every resident has been a perfect fit, I am grateful that this journey has remained uneventful and full of growth.
I have also met some truly amazing people committed to this work, and I want to sincerely thank everyone who has poured into me along the way. Your support, encouragement, and belief in this mission have meant everything. Shoutout to my board member Kenyatta D. Donley for believing in and supporting the mission!!!💪🏾

We don’t try to do it all. Our mission is simple:
To empower returning citizens with stability, dignity, and opportunity through low-barrier housing and wraparound support grounded in Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs.
When stability is achieved, recidivism is reduced, and communities are strengthened.
