We had the opportunity to attend Baltimore's Promise System's Change Unlocked event to learn how organizations across Baltimore are collaborating to expand credentialing opportunities for Baltimore City youth!

We were also excited to run into some of our Selection Advisory Council members, who represent agencies across Baltimore working to create better opportunities for our city.

Last week, we celebrated the work that we've accomplished together so far with ParentChild+ and First Step Staffing, and a challenge to continue listening to community, identifying innovative solutions, partnering with local organizations, and measuring community impact.

We are grateful to our investors and partners and are excited to continue making transformative investments across Baltimore!

And thank you Stem & Vine for hosting us!

Last week, our Executive Director, Dr. Nia Imani Fields, spent the afternoon with the Central Baltimore Partnership leading a Community Capitals: Ripple Effect Mapping session.

Nia shared, "It was a great reminder to be intentional about the outcomes we look to see in community and the importance of community members being at the table every step of the way."

We're grateful for spaces like these that center community voice, reflection, and collaboration in shaping Baltimore!

Our team spent time with Turnaround Tuesday at Zion Baptist Church and we left energized by the impact they're making across the city.

Turnaround Tuesday prepares, trains, and connects ‘returning,’ unemployed, and underemployed citizens to living wage jobs and to build a vibrant public life. They provide a community for participants to get “ready to work,” shift the hiring culture of Baltimore to employ returning citizens, and train participants as leaders to act on issues that create safe, thriving communities.

We're excited to keep the collaboration going!

Last week, we attended The Creative Nomads Cosmic Roots paint unveiling at the West North Avenue Development Authority of Baltimore City! We were blown away by Creative Nomads Ltd artists and partners who brought the Cosmic Roots Legacy Wall outdoor exhibit to life. Our Executive Director, Nia Imani Fields, and her son were honored to join the community paint day and were in awe of the finished product!

We are also thankful to everyone who stopped by and shared their ideas with us during our community engagement activity! Your voices help shape our work!

We recently had the opportunity to spend time with the ParentChild+ Baltimore team where we asked one question: What are you most proud of in your ParentChild+ work?

The answers were inspiring. We heard stories of a once non-verbal child now singing songs, parents gaining the confidence to advocate for their children, and young learners beginning to see their own beauty through the encouragement of their Early Learning Specialists.

Some of these stories were intended outcomes of ParentChild + but many were not. These ripple effect stories happen when trust is built, when families feel seen, and when teams are hired from the communities they serve.

ParentChild+ is not only preparing children for school, they are also bringing communities together!

ParentChild+ Baltimore recently celebrated the graduating class of its West Baltimore scholars in Sandtown/Winchester! We're incredibly proud of the children, families, and Early Learning Specialists whose dedication has helped build strong foundations for lifelong learning!

At GreenLight Fund Baltimore, we're proud to invest in evidence based programs like ParentChild+ that supports early literacy, school readiness, and helps empower parents as their child's first teacher.

Congrats to this amazing class and the entire ParentChild+ team! We can't wait to see what these families accomplish next!
