The energy was electric! The room was filled with people who love Baltimore!

This week, the GreenLight Fund Baltimore team hosted a soft launch and ribbon cutting to officially welcome First Step Staffing to Baltimore. First Step Staffing is a nonprofit employment agency that helps individuals with barriers to employment secure stable jobs within 72 hours of orientation and achieve self-sufficiency. First Step Staffing Baltimore aims to provide 1,100 Baltimoreans with jobs, valued at $16 million in wages over the next five years. They provide immediate work placement through employer staffing contracts, transportation, support services to promote long-term workforce success and upskilling certification opportunities.

A special thank you to our investors, Selection Advisory Council, vendors, and community partners who made this exciting resource possible for Baltimore!

ParentChild+ supports families like the Boykins in building strong connections and a foundation for lifelong learning. Through home visits and hands-on learning activities, ParentChild+ equips caregivers with tools to support their children’s early development while strengthening the parent-child interaction.

“ParentChild+ gave us more than just learning activities; it gave us bonding time. My granddaughter and I have grown so much closer, and I know she’s on the right path for school and beyond. She has a joy for learning and her curiosity has been sparked thanks to our Early Learning Specialist.”

First Selection Advisory Council (SAC) Meeting of the Year!!!

This month marked the kick off of our 4th selection process. We work with our cross sector body of leaders and residents across the city to help inform our investment year to year. Last week, our Selection Advisory Council joined us to discuss the learnings from our community engagement findings. Next, we'll continue to scout the country for innovative models that can fill a gap and amplify the work happening across the city.

Stay tuned for where we land this year with the voice of our community leading the way!

Do you spot any Baltimore servant leaders? Shout them out in the comments!

Thank you to the Impact Hub Baltimore for hosting us!
