The Consortium of Higher Education LGBT Resource Professionals is a member-based organization working towards the liberation of LGBTQ people in higher education. We support individuals who work on campuses to educate and support people of diverse sexu

It has been awhile since we last updated you about Consortium happenings!

In June we held our summer retreat to transition and onboard our new board members! Since then we have been busy! Here is sneak peak into some of our summer projects!

The Center Closures Project work continues as we are in progress of reviewing data. This is a huge project with a ton of information to sort through! We appreciate everyone who has and continues to provide us with information on what his happening to centers across the nation and how people have been or are still being impacted by legislation, institutional overcompliance, restructuring, etc.

We are in progress of updating our guiding documents. It started with updating the Bylaws and now all of our documents that guide us in our operations. We are working to ensure the documents ensure the current operations of the Consortium. This was a long overdue project and provides opportunity for us to truly review and evaluate our systems, structures, polciies, and operations.

Work is underway in creating the new guidance document for supporting Q***r and Trans Black, Indigenous, People of Color in higher education. We are working with an amazing group individuals providing their knowledge, expertise, and lived experiences to move this work forward. The last time "Supporting Trans and Q***r Students of Color" guidance was last released in 2016.

Lastly, we have entered our Strategic Planning era! We are in Phase 1 of the project which includes going through an organizational assessment of what we do, how we do it, SWOT analysis, and more. Or goal is to launch the 2027-2029 Strategic Plan in January. This is an important project for us as we layout out the future direction of the Consortium.
