This morning, CFYM had the opportunity to visit Bethune-Cookman University — and what an experience it was.
Founded in 1904 by the legendary Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune, Bethune-Cookman stands as a powerful symbol of resilience, purpose, and Black excellence. Built on a mission to educate, empower, and uplift, the university continues to shape leaders who are grounded in service, culture, and community. Walking the campus this morning, you could feel that legacy — not just in the buildings, but in the pride, the energy, and the sense of possibility.
And then… our students showed up.
Out of 10 seniors on the tour, 9 applied and were ACCEPTED today.
That’s not just a statistic — that’s preparation meeting opportunity. That’s commitment. That’s belief. That’s what happens when our young people step into spaces that were built with them in mind and rise to the moment.
This was more than a college visit. This was a glimpse into the future.
CFYM is proud. The village is proud. And most importantly — the students should be proud.
