"After a long walk, you sit under a tree and the breeze comes and cools you.
Each moment one has to be at ease with oneself--not trying to improve, not cultivating anything, not practicing anything.
Walking is Zen, sitting is Zen, talking or silent, moving, unmoving, the essence is at ease.

The essence is at ease: that is the keyword.
The essence is at ease: that is the key statement.
Do whatsoever you are doing, but at the deepest core remain at ease, cool, calm, centered."

Nice EP. Love 1st one & have been playing since it's release in the 90's. We enjoyed the 1st "Acid over Manhattan" so much, that 2 years ago, Vague Output (Baltimore) threw a small, local, all-acid-techno night, using the original cover art from "Acid Over Manhattan" on the flyer.
Thanks for all the awesome acid & thanks for keeping things going, Tim Taylor. (Y) :)

The follow up to "Acid Over Manhattan" from 20 years ago. Original Planet of Drums and Pump Panel members T.Taylor and D.Zamani return with first new material in over 15 years. "Acid Over LA" Writt

Today's "techno vinyl veteran/lover", of 23 years, DJ Alex Gardel was lucky enough to have graduated from The Sheffield Institute for the Recording Arts, with a concentration in Audio Engineering, in September of 1999.

"Unknown" by Brian Stillwater & Alex Gardel is the very first vinyl release he ever did.

Friend, Brian Stillwater, then "Rockstar Progressive DJ", turned world-renown, "Gypsy Brewer" of award winning brews ( http://www.stillwater-artisanal.com/ ), worked very hard on this project with Alex.

Alex acted as primary audio engineer/analog synth programmer, while Brian shared his knowledge of Progressive Trance/House, to sculpt the track, fitting the intended genre as perfectly as possible.

The studio that they worked in at the time, was the size of a closet & they burned MANY, MANY CD's (what are CD's...? lol), then took car rides with the CDs, to ensure that the mix was as solid as possible.

That year, Alex travelled with his then roommate, DJ Joe Kopasek, to the Winter Music Conference in Miami. Alex and Brian met with Chab, co-owner of Imago Gramaphome records at the music conference.

Chab loved & signed the release instantly, remixed it & debuted playing the dark, tribal track at Scott Henry & Lieven DeGeyndt's legendary "Buzz", by Buzzlife Productions, at The Capitol Ballroom (later to become "Club Nation") in Washington DC.

"Unknown" was also played by superstar progressive DJ, John Digweed on his BBC Radio One show, where Alex Gardel's name was apparently accidentally announced as "Alex Gardner"... ;)

Brian and Alex continued to do several other remix collaborations, before our respective careers were lucky enough to take off. :)
..Well, Mr. Gardel's production style has changed significantly, since this first release. (he now creates/DJs/performs mostly Detroit/Birmingham/Berlin/Chicago inspired techno), but just wanted to share a small, but important chapter, his my musical career with you, so that you can better understand a few of the "techno roots" from which he came.

Hope you enjoy! :)
