Black Girls Vote (BGV) is a national, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization committed to uplifting the black community through education.

Our objective is to encourage Black women to utilize their voting power to address concerns that affect women of color. Based in Baltimore, MD., Black Girls Vote (BGV) is a 501c3 non-partisan organization that was established in October 2015 with Nykidra Robinson as its CEO & Founder. BGV is designed to represent the concerns and interests of Black women. However, BGV is not affiliated with any po

litical party. We are invested in ensuring that Black women are empowered to advance education, economic development, quality health care, and improve outcomes within the communities, while taking action for policy at the voting polls. Changes to district boundaries can affect which communities are grouped together, who represents you, and whose concerns have the greatest influence in an election.

That’s why redistricting and gerrymandering conversations matter. They’re not just about maps. They’re about representation and making sure communities have a meaningful voice in our democracy.

That’s what Black Women’s Equal Pay Day represents.

It’s a reminder that the conversation isn’t just about paychecks. It’s about opportunity, economic security, retirement, homeownership, and the ability to build wealth for ourselves, our families, and future generations.

Progress doesn’t happen by accident. It happens when we stay informed, speak up, and keep pushing for policies that move us closer to equity.
