WLS PRESENTS for our 2020 Hopkins Women in Media event: EMMA NEEDELL

A 2011 graduate from Johns Hopkins, Emma is a filmmaker and champion of original storytelling who recently featured in Forbes’s 30 Under 30 list. She’s drawn to stories that are "evil with a heart" — dark in theme, story, or tone, but always with a throughline of hope. Her breakout script, The Water Man, caught the attention of Oprah Winfrey and A-list actor David Oyelowo, who came on to produce the project, and was made into a feature-length film in 2019. Emma has since worked with Oscar-winning directors and producers and on original projects in partnership with Netflix, Anonymous Content, MGM/Orion, Amblin, Apple, and Gaumont TV. We’re excited to introduce Emma at this year’s Women’s Leadership Symposium!

WLS PRESENTS for our 2020 Hopkins Women in Media event: LUCIE FINK

A 2014 graduate from Johns Hopkins, Lucie Fink is a video producer, lifestyle host, and stop motion artist who created the hit YouTube series "Try Living with Lucie" on Refinery29. Lucie has been featured in Forbes, A Plus, and Daily Mail among others as well as won multiple awards and nominations for her work on Youtube. Aside from her on-camera productions, Lucie has been commissioned by Oreo, Under Armour, The TODAY Show, SoulCycle, and more to create original video content. Lucie is the biggest advocate for pitching yourself, and she’s excited to share her insights as a leading woman in media with the WLS audience.
