The NWSA Crip Love Letters is a disability justice–centered initiative designed to expand the scope of the National Women’s Studies Association’s physical and intellectual record.

The project invites NWSA members—particularly disabled, chronically ill, mad, neurodivergent, and multiply marginalized feminists—to contribute short, personal “love letters” that speak to survival, pain, care, refusal, and radical self-love.

Grounded in disability justice and feminist archival ethics, this initiative treats lived experience, affect, and embodied knowledge as historically valuable materials.

We’re building a digital archive and welcome submissions of all mediums. Not sure where to start? Register today and join Maria Rovito, NWSA Member at Large, on Saturday April 11th to learn more!

📸 Image Description: Slide 1 features a photo of pink flowers in a vase to the left in the background with a cream envelope foregrounded in the center. The envelope has a cream piece of paper halfway out with dark teal text describing event logistics. To the right of the envelope is a polaroid style photo of the workshop facilitator, Maria Rovito, in a black jacket and top. She has blond hair and pale skin. There are small pressed purple flowers scattered as an overlay to the polaroid photo in the bottom right. Slide 2 features a simialr background with a white piece of paper centered with a silver clip at the top. The text overlayed on the paper mirrors the language in this caption, providing details on the project.

The NWSA firmly believes in the necessity and power of holding space for grief, rage, and critical thinking in the wake of witnessing and experiencing harm.

Join President Pabón as she holds space for an open discussion (not a webinar, not a workshop) centering the women who help(ed) lead the labor movement for farm workers’ rights while also processing César Chávez's history of sexual abuse and gendered violence—now a public part of that history we have to reckon with.

📸 Image description: This image has a rich dark brown textured background. This design features four (4) pressed white lilies across the image, signifying grief and loss. White text in stylized font describe the event’s logistics.

✨ The National Women's Studies Association (NWSA) is proud to partner with award winning storyteller, creative disruptor, organizational culture change consultant, and interdisciplinary feminist educator, Dr. Meghna Bhat for our first storytelling workshop series! ✨

“Stories That Heal Us: Reclaiming Voice, Building Belonging” is an invitation to slow down and reconnect with the parts of your story that want to be heard. Together, we’ll explore how our lived experiences, values, and voices shape the stories we carry—and how sharing them can create healing and belonging. By the end, you’ll leave with a story that feels true to you and the grounded confidence to share it in community!

📝 You can learn more about our 3 part series by visiting our Resource Library -"Stories that Heal Us Series" here: https://tinyurl.com/StoriesThatHealUsSeries

BREAKING: Today, leading civil rights & advocacy organizations including the , , , and are calling on colleges nationwide to publicly reaffirm their commitments to opportunity, inclusion, student success, and academic freedom by pledging support for the Foundational Values for Higher Education compact.

This pro-freedom and equity compact comes in response to ongoing attacks from the Trump administration on constitutional and civil rights protections and pressures to eliminate diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility programs at educational institutions. We’ve sent this compact to schools across the country to encourage them to support it and to fight for their students, their employees, and for our democracy.

The National Women’s Studies Association is proud to fiercely support the Foundational Values for Higher Education Pro-Equity Compact. Our members community can review the compact and more resources, like the National Women’s Law Center x Advocates for Youth student facing toolkit for organizing and more.
