The Capital Pride Alliance has named its honorees for the 2024 Capital Pride Honors event to be held on May 31, 2024 at the MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill Maryland.

Baltimore's very own Iya Dammons will be receiving the Breaking Barriers: Community Impact award for her extensive efforts to improve the lives of countless LGBTQIA+ people in Baltimore, but also across the state of Maryland and the District of Columbia.

The BCFD Pride Alliance has been proud to work with Iya on multiple projects over the years. We are now so incredibly proud of her for this achievement. Of course if you know Iya, then you know that she isn't doing any of this for the money or the honors. She does everything for the people who benefit from the services of the organization which she not only founded, but serves as the CEO and Executive Director.
