We were created because of the enormous Economic disparity that exist in our communities in Entrepreneurship, Leadership, Financial Literacy, S.E.L, Community Enrichment and Youth having their voice heard. t. There was an alarming disconnect in communities caused by enormous economic disparity in communities. We are impacting the lives of youth and changing the community. We notice the economic disparity in developing entrepreneurs and leaders because of the lack of locally owned businesses and the lack of local leadership in various communities. We develop youth ages 9-18 and young adults 18-25 into Leaders and Entrepreneurs Financial literacy, workforce development members into youth and young adults who flourish and lead their families, peers, friends and communities--today and into the future. We realize that we have to focus on our youth to help them obtain knowledge and create opportunities for themselves. YSLI also has an Entrepreneurship pillar that allows our youth to create a financial and business culture that allows them to understand the risk and approach of a business with a true view for enterprising profit and understanding loss. We also believe that preparing the youth in various ways with workforce development is paramount for our youth skill set. During this process we offer job readiness and we will focus on resume building, interviewing skills and appropriate attire. We also identified financial literacy as a need for creating sustainable futures. We will also work on banking, portfolio building and credit management. We also believe that developing skills to become a leader is paramount in life, that is why we focus a lot on leadership skill sets and strategies. They will also possess the leadership skill set that will allow them to create a team oriented environment. We also prepare them for real life work situations and our Youth and Young Adults what they need to do in order to obtain and maintain a job. We also have a S.E.L program where we help students communicate. We also have a hospitality program that helps the youth become saf serve certified and we teach them how to cook and preparemeals. We also blend our other programming into the program by allowing them to manage the business plan, budget,bookkeeping, accounting and planning. We also believe that our youth can use STEAM in the form of our Multimedia Youth Talks Program to change the world and our STEAM (Multimedia Youth Talks Program) activities and initiatives will focus on that. We also have a community enrichment program that focuses on Go Green , Community Cleanups , Recycling, Gardening , Community Enrichment , Power 17 to 18 Voter Rights, Home Economics, Boys to men and Girls to women program and SEL program. YSLI’s main focus will be creating young Leaders, Entrepreneurs, STEAM Innovators and Financial Builders which will allow our youth and young adults to flourish and lead their families, peers, friends and community.
