👏 We’re proud to recognize our community partner, Ballet After Dark Inc, for their leadership during Women’s Health Month and Period Poverty Awareness Week.

On May 31, they’re hosting a kit-packing event in Baltimore to assemble 50 period kits for girls and young women impacted by period poverty—each filled with essential menstrual and hygiene items.

Baltimore has received $4 million of federal funding to build a composting facility at the city’s Eastern Sanitation Yard, which would accept organic waste such as food scraps and turn it into a fertilizer mixture.

The Hoffberger Family Philanthropies is inviting Letters of Inquiry to support grants up to $250,000 (targeting $50,000 to $100,000) over 12 months focused on addressing workforce development/economic mobility or improving children’s mental health in greater Baltimore. The Hoffberger Family Philanthropies is committed to meeting unmet needs in Baltimore.

We specifically encourage organizations and projects led by black, indigenous, and/or people of color. To be eligible, applicants must be tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or have a Fiscal Sponsor. Grant funds must serve those living in the greater Baltimore region.
