This is a glorious moment for West Baltimore's Upton community. We're delighted to share photos of BEWC's June 3rd ribbon cutting ceremony, celebrating our official opening and the energy and tenacity that brought BEWC to fruition. We've been blessed with many supporters, including the residents of Upton, the visionaries who saw the need for BEWC and began this process, board members past and present, generous private and government funders, partners, tenants, corporate sponsors, service providers (infrastructure, construction, design, architecture, etc.), local leadership, community groups, and local businesses. A special thanks to Reverend Jules Dunham Howie, BEWC Administrator, whose devotion to detail, community building and relations, and operations skills got this building and BEWC up and running! This community hub will connect people to resources and service providers to improve the quality of life and well-being of our community. It's our vision to be a catalyst for economic equity on the personal and communal levels. We're looking forward to working with Upton's residents to make that happen!!!
