Program Overview

The Bethel Empowerment and Wellness Center has 4 programmatic areas of work operations seeking to fulfil the center’s mission statement.

1. Office Space for Community Partner’s and Community Resources: The Bethel Empowerment and Wellness Center will provide office space for a host of community partners. The Center will also provide start- up incubation space for small non-profit

s in the community and coordinate monthly expert forms.

2. Neutral Convener: The Bethel Empowerment and Wellness Center will provide meeting space for community conversations and when appropriate offer facilitation and brokering supports.

3. Community Nutrition Hub: The Bethel Empowerment and Wellness Center will have an industrial kitchen and will partner with the community to provide nutritional meal options in the community. The Center will also facilitate partnership with culinary arts programs that utilize the commercial kitchen space.

4. Community Resource Hub: The Bethel Empowerment and Wellness Center will work with existing resources to create a comprehensive list of services, opportunities, and supports offered in the 21217 zip code and Historic Upton Neighborhood. Wellness Wheel of Services
Identified services, opportunities, and supports will be categorized on the community and family wellness wheel of services.

We're sad to report the passing of Buddy Sapolsky. Buddy was passionate about BEWC's mission, played a central role in getting BEWC to where we are today, and has helped pave the way for our future. He'll be missed.

A 40-year veteran of the organized Jewish community, Louis M. "Buddy” Sapolsky died Sept. 3 after battling significant health issues in recent months.
