Today marks seven years since the passing of our namesake, Angela—the person behind our mission and work at AGDF.
Angela was someone whose love for community ran miles deep. She knew that change begins with showing up for one another and so Angela always showed up for her neighbors, for justice, for small acts of care that ripple outward. Her life was a reminder that creating the kind of world we want to see doesn’t often happen in grand gestures. We create it together in the consistent, everyday work (and joy!) of pouring into the folks around us.
This past weekend, a group of good eggs honored Angela’s legacy of service, mutual aid, and community by volunteering at the Maryland Book Bank (). Our volunteers helped sort 3,500 books that will soon find their way into the hands of Baltimore readers. We know Angela would have been egg-cited to see the power of literacy continuing to connect one another in a city that she loved with all her heart.
As we remember Angela on her angelversary, we carry forward her spirit of community and belief that when you show up—for your neighbors, your city, and yourself—you help make the world a little warmer, kinder, and more connected.
Here’s to continuing the work Angela did and the values she lived by, one good book, one good neighbor, and one good egg at a time. 💛📚🥚💜
