The Baltic Lutheran Bake Sale will be help Saturday, August 8th from 9am-12pm at the Baltic American Legion. This sale never dissapoints!

America's 250th Trivia: Bake sales began as powerfuk tools for political resistance. In the early 1900s, Suffragettes utilized bake sales to raise money for voting rights. They set out to prove to the public that they were capable, engaged citizens. In the Civil Righte Era, activists used baking and selling as a form of financial resistance. Notably, during boycotts, hero Georgia Gilmore organized a secret baking club that sold goods to fund transportation for protesters fighting for equal rights.

Another new event to grace Dog Days this year will be a Spikeball tournament! On Saturday, August 8 after the parade, Baltic Post Prom will be hosting an all-ages Spikeball tournament. $30/team of 2. Teams will be split up by age divisions. AND the concession stand will be open!

America's 250th Trivia: Spikeball was invented in the US in 1989. It was originally called Roundnet and was a big flop. However, it was rediscovered, it's patent was picked up, and it was pitched to SharkTank under the new name Spikeball. The media gave it the notoriety it needed to take off this time.

This year we will be adding some new activities to Sunday afternoon. There will be a vendor fair and food trucks at Baltic Heights park. There will also be live music from 1-3pm performed by a SD favorite: Vermillion.
