Upcoming Events: looking for volunteers for work weekends.

There are parts of the Axe Factory trail (downstream) that could really use some help. I would be willing to do three Saturdays in July, the 11th, 18th, and 25th, to work just at Axe Factory.

Paddle Report:

Shared report: They paddled from Waterfront Park on Saratoga lake today 6/25 upstream on the Kaydeross. There was one restriction (trees both sides) about .25 from the lake, then 2-3 more right around the Lake Lonley junction. All passable in canoe or kayak with a little route searching. A few recent looking big trees down but didn’t fully block the creek.

One accumulating strainer ( just downstream of Lonley creek) stopped a small powerboat.

The passage to Lake Lonely is blocked in 25 feet by a large downed tree (30”?), with perhaps 20” clearance above the water. This is a challenging obstruction with steep banks both sides.

Paddle The Creek Clean Up
Has been rescheduled for Sunday May 17th 9 am

The weather is warming up and it's time to pickup some trash and clear strainers and obstacles in the creek.

This paddle is designed for more experienced paddlers, but if you want a short paddle you call also just join us for the Gray's Crossing portion.

Bring Kayaks or Canoes. We may have some extra space in canoes.
Things to bring:
PFD's [life jackets - I have some spares.]
Change of clothes or spare jacket
Bow Saws, Pruning Shears, Gloves, Bug Spray, Sun Screen, Water.

Trip is from Gray's Crossing to Driscoll Road [off Rt 9] or to Blodgett Take out off Kayadeross Ave Extension.

It is about a 5 mile paddle all downstream.

We get out of boats to get trash and clear obstacles, getting out isn't required but can be if portability is needed.

We can also use people to help us carry stuff out at Gray's and the ending spot.
