Our numbers continue to climb! 326 🎒

This week, we are proud to serve 326 students through our weekend food program!

For many students, access to enough food over the weekend is not guaranteed. Together, we are working to help ensure students have the food they need to feel supported, nourished, and ready to learn when they return to school on Monday.

Every bag packed, every donation made, and every helping hand makes a difference. We are so grateful to everyone who helps make this incredible mission possible.

304 KIDS 🎒

This week, the Baker City Backpack Program is serving **304 local students** with weekend food bags — our highest number yet.

We are so grateful for the volunteers who show up week after week, the schools and organizations who help make this program possible, and every donor who helps put food into the hands of local kids.

304 kids. 304 reasons to keep showing up.

Thank you, Baker County, for continuing to rally around our kids. We couldn’t do this without you.

Surf & Turf! 🎒
Join us for an unforgettable evening of delicious food and meaningful impact at our Surf & Turf Fundraising Dinner — supporting the Baker City Backpack Program—Our 100% volunteer run program provides weekend food bags to youth experiencing food insecurity in our community.

We just completed week one of the 26/27 school year, serving 260 students- our highest first week in program history!

First week, 260 students served 🎒

We’re officially back for another year- making sure local kids have food to take home for the weekend.

This week, 260 local students received weekend food bags filled with nutritious, kid-friendly food to help bridge the gap between school meals and the weekend.

Behind those 260 bags are countless hours of shopping, packing, organizing, delivering, and volunteering — all made possible by our incredible community.

We’re so grateful for every volunteer, donor, school staff member, business, church, and community partner who helps make this program possible.

260 kids. One community.

THANK YOU, Maurices! ✨

A huge thank you to Baker City Maurices for sponsoring a fall peanut butter drive to support the Baker City Backpack Program!

Peanut butter is an important part of the weekend food bags we provide to local students, and one of the most expensive items we provide. Support like this helps us keep those bags stocked and ready for kids who need them.

We are so grateful for local businesses who help make a difference right here in our community. Thank you, Maurices, for helping us put food on the table and support our local kids! 🥜🎒

WELCOME BACK 🍎 The 2026/2027 school year is in full swing and the Baker City Backpack Program will be BACK AT IT starting Thursday, October 1st, 2026.

If you or someone you know is experiencing food insecurity and would like to be included in the first week of Backpack Program bags, please reach out to your school counselor, or scan the QR codes to register.

Miss the first week? No problem- we enroll continuously! You can sign up to receive a bag at ANY TIME throughout the school year!
