Save the East Fork Association was created to work with the various governmental agencies and conservation groups to improve recreation and safety, and advocates for the watershed and protected habitat along the East Fork of the San Gabriel River. The East Fork of the San Gabriel River located in the Angeles National Forest provides drinking water and recreation for 22 million citizens living in a

nd around the San Gabriel Mountains. The river provides habitat for a number of special flora and fauna which is either endangered for extinction, or are found nowhere else in the world, all of which needs to be protected from adverse human activity which threatens our watershed and threatens to kill the protected Santa Ana Sucker. This page exists to coordinate ecology restoration and education efforts along the East Fork, and to organize and coordinate efforts to advocate on behalf of the plants and animals which are endangered by illegal mining in the river, raw human sewage overwhelming areas, illegal zip-lines and other banned activities, illegal ground fires, vandalizing spray paint usage, and other human activities which adversely impact the health and safety of wildlife as well as the people who recreate along the East Fork. Leave No Trace education as well as the reporting of pollution, spray paint, and other problems which need to be addressed can be reported to the forum here, and efforts to resolve those problems can be developed. Join us in working to save the beauty and diversity of species along the East Fork!

Hello Folks,

I am emailing you to ask for your help in protecting what little wilderness we have left. The company Bungee America is attempting to legitimize for the bungee jumping business some small private inholding in the Sheep Mountain Wilderness Area. I've attached their proposal. Among other things, they seek to be allowed to continue using their helicopter to service their enterprise.

The bridge is surrounded by wilderness. It's against the rules to even fly a drone in the wilderness (https://wilderness.net/learn-about-wilderness/stewardship/drones-wilderness.php) much less a helicopter .

Another aspect of this business is the impact it has on the parking situation at the end of the East Fork Road. Parking is always at a premium on the weekends, this business only adds to the parking problem.

Please help our wilderness by writing a letter stating your reasons against this project. You can write to the Los Angeles County Planning Department, Richard Claghorn, at the address in the attachment. Please write to Congresswoman Judy Chu protesting this proposal. And also, the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument Manager. Addresses below:
