This addendum is submitted to formally document material omissions and inaccuracies in the police report related to the disappearance and death of my son, Christian Mathew Vázquez De Jesus

1. Omission of autism diagnosis:
At the time I reported my son missing, I explicitly informed law enforcement that Christian was autistic. I used the words “I have an autistic child, and he is missing.” Despite this disclosure, Christian’s autism and disability status are not reflected anywhere in the police report. This omission is significant, as disability status directly affects risk assessment, urgency, and response protocols in missing person cases.

2. False statement regarding voicemail contact:
The police report indicates that law enforcement attempted to contact me and left a voicemail. This statement is incorrect. At that time, I did not have voicemail service enabled on my phone, and no voicemail could have been left. Additionally, no officer responded in person following my initial missing person call.

3. Failure to correct known inaccuracies:
I informed law enforcement of both Christian’s autism and the inaccuracy regarding voicemail contact. To date, these issues have not been corrected or amended in the official report.

These matters are not subjective disagreements; they are verifiable facts. The absence of Christian’s disability status and the inclusion of events that did not occur materially affect the integrity of the report and the assessment of the response provided.

This addendum is submitted to ensure the accuracy of the official record and to preserve these issues for oversight and review.

I sent this email asking for help investigating my son’s case.

I never even received a response.

As a parent, I can’t help but wonder…

If our voices can be ignored so easily, what happens to the children who have no voice at all?

We tell children to speak up.
We tell parents to advocate.
But advocacy means little if no one is willing to listen.

I will never stop speaking for Christian—and for every child who deserves protection, accountability, and the truth.

Because silence protects systems. It never protects children.

Sherif never responded. Only letter I received was one that states:

They found no evidence of any assault for them to reopen the case.

I shared the snapshot to the detective as soon as I received. It took him 5 months to make an attempt to find the person in question because I demanded it. He lied to me.

Every letter to the Sherrif, the various reports the conversation are all on the book and how to save your children from injustice before it’s to late.

Sheriff Blackman,

I am the mother and legal next of kin of Christian Mathew Vázquez DeJeuss (date of death: January 21, 2020).

This email serves as formal notice to preserve all evidence, records, materials, communications, and data in the possession, custody, or control of the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office related to my son, including but not limited to:

• Physical evidence
• Digital evidence
• Reports, notes, and drafts
• Emails, texts, and internal communications
• Audio, video, and surveillance records
• Evidence logs and chain-of-custody documentation

Please ensure that no evidence is altered, accessed, moved, deleted, destroyed, or otherwise modified pending state-level review.

This notice includes any materials held directly by the Sheriff’s Office or indirectly through third parties or partner agencies.

I am requesting written confirmation that this preservation notice has been received and implemented.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Respectfully,

Jeannette Roe
Mother of Christian Mathew Vázquez DeJeuss

Every time I hear someone ask, “Where was the mother?” my heart breaks.

As Christian’s mom, I know what it feels like to have people question you after the worst day of your life. They don’t see the years you spent loving your child, advocating for them, protecting them, and trying to help them. They only see one moment and think they know the whole story.

The better question is this: What did the people who recognized the crisis do?

If you see someone in emotional pain, don’t film them. Don’t ignore them. Don’t assume someone else will help. Stay with them. Call 911. Contact their family. Take every threat seriously.

We cannot change the past, but we can change how we respond to the next person who is hurting.

Let’s stop blaming grieving parents and start building communities where intervention is the expectation, not the exception.

If Christian’s Legacy Project stands for anything, it’s this: one person who chooses to act can change the outcome of someone else’s story.

How do I request my child’s educational records?

Response:

As a parent, you have the right under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) to inspect and obtain your child’s educational records.

I recommend submitting your request in writing and asking for all records, including:

• Cumulative file
• Attendance records
• Discipline records
• Emails mentioning your child
• Incident reports
• Guidance/counseling records
• IEP or 504 records (if applicable)
• School resource officer reports
• Surveillance video (request this immediately, as many districts automatically overwrite footage after a short period)

Keep copies of every request and document every conversation. Written documentation can become invaluable if questions arise later.

School safety and transparency.

I have written many letter to the school board.requested a response . Not one! Why?!

Was Christian life not mean anything!! Where are my rights as a parent to request documents pertaining to my son and be completely ignored. I have attached a copy of the email.

Dear Superintendent Longshore,

Pursuant to Florida Statutes Chapter 119 (Public Records Act) and § 1002.22, I am requesting copies of all educational, electronic, and audiovisual records pertaining to my late son, Christian Mathew Vazquez De Jesus (deceased January 21, 2020), who attended school in the Highlands County School District.

This request includes, but is not limited to:

All emails, messages, or other digital communications created, sent, or received by district staff referencing or involving Christian;

All incident reports, internal investigations, and disciplinary documentation related to Christian;

All surveillance or classroom videos, recordings, or photographs in which Christian appears—especially any depicting incidents where he was harmed or mistreated;

Any correspondence between district staff, teachers, administrators, or law enforcement regarding Christian’s welfare, safety, or death.

Because Christian is deceased, FERPA privacy restrictions no longer apply; these records are subject to Florida’s public-records provisions. If any portion must be redacted to protect the identities of living students, please provide the remaining portions per § 119.07(1)(d) and include a written explanation for each redaction or denial.

Please confirm receipt of this request and provide the records (or the time and cost estimate if extensive) within 10 business days. If additional time is required, kindly provide a written legal basis and a reasonable timeline for production.

I am available to accept electronic delivery. Thank you for your prompt attention.

Sincerely,

Jeannette Roe

Christian listened to this song the night he left us.

He wrote on his goodbye letter

If people could spare a bit of kindness.

This breaks me! He was not broken he was perfect in every way. He was love, he was kind. He was different. We all are.

I wish he new that God made him perfect that he has value. That no one should have had the power to make him feel this way.

Don’t let anyone make you feel this way. You are loved and our Heavenly Father doesn’t make mistakes.
