Avila Beach Junior Lifeguard Program ALOHA and WELCOME. The Avila Beach Junior Lifeguard Program is one of the finest programs for developing young watermen and women on the central coast.

Since 2001, we have provided kiddos with an unparalleled summer experience dedicated to teaching water safety awareness, building confidence in and around the sea, and looking at challenges as opportunities to BE and DO our best. The program has been running for the past 11 years. Founded by Russell Edwards, the program now hosts 200 junior guards from age 10-17. The program focuses on character d

evelopment and providing a rigorous curriculum including, paddling, running, swimming, outrigger canoe, first aid and CPR, and basic lifeguarding.

Location: Fisherman’s Beach in Port San Luis

ALL tryout participants must complete the 2026 App/Waiver on our website.
