Riding bitless with a little s hackamore or something similar?
Behaviors like head throwing, head shaking, rearing, tail swishing, strained facial expressions, head tilting, ear pinning, above & behind the vertical, mouth opening, & more can be signs your equipment is failing your horse.

It’s hard to find perfect equipment.

Shank hackamores have leverage. Leverage + abrasive &/or lariat nosebands are NOT comfortable for horses & neither are curbs made of chain. Wrap them or choose options that are flat & padded.

The rulebook for showing with IBBA is underway, like & follow to stay updated for our maiden (virtual) show coming later this year!

Hello and welcome to IBBA, where the future of excellent horsemanship lies beyond equipment.

IBBA (International Ba****ck & Bridleless Association) is a new kind of competitive horse showing space. One where you have the opportunity to compete bitless, bridleless, and even ba****ck, without being limited by traditional equipment rules.

We’re here to challenge the idea that more equipment equals better riding.
Instead, we’re focused on connection, communication, and true partnership with the horse.

If your horse goes best bitless, this is for you.
If you’re curious about riding bridleless, we want to support that journey.
And if you’re just starting to explore going bitless, you’re welcome here too; we’ll have classes and a community that meets you where you are.

At IBBA, we believe excellence in horsemanship shouldn’t be defined by what’s on the horse, but by how the horse feels and responds.

Our mission is to advocate for ethical competition that prioritizes welfare, trust, and partnership.
We aim to create a space where riders of all ages, disciplines, and breeds can come together, compete, and grow, without compromising the horse.

So come along with us and join us on the journey of redefining horse shows as we know them.
