One year later, we remember.

This weekend at the Cailloux Theater in Kerrville, our community gathered to honor the 119 lives lost in the July 4, 2025 floods. As Governor Greg Abbott read every name, we were reminded that recovery is ongoing.

The Long Road Home doesn't end when the floodwaters recede. It continues in every repaired home, every helping hand, every neighbor who refuses to forget.

At Rebuilding Together Austin San Antonio, we remain committed to walking that road alongside the Hill Country for as long as it takes.

Because rebuilding isn't just about homes. It's about hope.

For 250 years, Americans have shown that we stand strongest when we stand together with our neighbors.
This year, we honor that legacy of resilience, service, community, and neighborly love.
That commitment feels especially meaningful in the Texas Hill Country, as we remember and honor the lives lost last Fourth of July.
As Rebuilding Together Austin San Antonio expands across the Hill Country and Central Texas, our mission remains the same: repair homes, revitalize communities, rebuild lives, and be there for our neighbors when it matters most.

One year ago, the July 4 floods changed the Texas Hill Country forever.

Today, we remember those impacted, honor the resilience of our communities and recognize the countless individuals and organizations who have helped carry recovery forward.

Our profile turns green as part of , a shared symbol of remembrance, unity and hope across the Hill Country.

Recovery is not measured in days or months. It is built over time, through neighbors helping neighbors and communities coming together when it matters most.

Together, we remember. Together, we rebuild.

As the one-year anniversary of the July 4 TX Hill Country floods approaches, Rebuilding Together Austin San Antonio is honored to announce a transformational $500,000 gift from Methodist Healthcare Ministries of South Texas, Inc. to support ongoing disaster relief and prevention efforts across the Texas Hill Country and the 74 counties Methodist Healthcare Ministries serves.

With this investment, RTASA is launching a matching campaign to turn this gift into a $1 million Hill Country rebuilding effort, helping families complete critical repairs, return to safer and healthier homes, and prepare for the storms ahead.

Recovery does not end when the headlines fade. For many families, the hardest part begins when help has dwindled and critical work is still incomplete. Through The Long Road Home, we are committed to filling the gaps, lending a hand, and walking with our neighbors as they continue rebuilding safety, stability, and hope.

This new space will help us share more about the issues shaping safe, healthy, and affordable homes across Central Texas, San Antonio, and the Hill Country. From housing preservation and ADUs to aging in place, workforce development, disaster recovery, and community resilience.
Our goal is to bring more people into the conversation about why preserving the homes our neighbors already live in is one of the most practical and compassionate affordable housing strategies we have.
