A huge thank you to Chuck Lipscomb and for hosting a CTPSC fundraiser last week!

The evening brought together local businesses to raise money for new 911 headsets for . Funding the headsets is an investment in clearer communication, faster coordination, and stronger support for those answering our community’s most urgent calls.

We heard testimonies from local first responders and left feeling inspired by their firsthand accounts.

Events like this strengthen our community connections and partnerships like this turn support into action. We are grateful for JE Dunn’s commitment to public safety!

Today, on Peace Officers Memorial Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women everywhere who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities. We stand in gratitude and remembrance.

Since 1875, Austin has lost 29 officers in the line of duty. We remember their courage, their commitment, and the families who carry their legacy each day. Thank you for your selfless dedication to protecting others.

Last week, thanks to the generous donations from and , CTPSC provided over 70 meals for students and instructors at the K9 Decoy School.

The two-day school covers various K9 scenarios and offers patrol officers opportunities to work with the dogs, educating them on best practice techniques.

This is the only school in the department that provides free dinner for its students. We’re proud to continue supporting our officers as they further their education and enhance their police work knowledge - and we’re especially proud of our incredible community partners, Hat Creek and Tony C’s, for once again stepping up to help make it happen.

Happy International Firefighters’ Day! Firefighters do more than just fight fires, they respond to medical emergencies, car accidents, service calls, and more. In fact, less than a quarter of their calls are responding to fires!

On any given shift your local firefighter is experiencing the same amount of trauma the average person would experience over the course of their entire lives. They run towards danger, bravely facing the unknown to protect their communities.

We’re grateful for Central Texas firefighters and firefighters everywhere for their service.

One of CTPSC's priorities this year is the recruitment and retention of public safety careers. Every department faces staffing shortages, which impacts our city's safety.

We have partnered with a local creative agency to launch a campaign focused on recruiting and retaining the best police officers, firefighters, and EMS personnel.

Past President Corby Jastrow spoke with KXAN News earlier this week about our campaign and why investing in public safety is so important for our community.

Last fall, CTPSC sponsored a carport for the new Honor Guard van. The carport is now complete, and we had the chance to speak with Sgt. Meson Woo about the difference this sponsorship makes.

Watch his remarks to see why this new carport is such a meaningful addition for the department.

Earlier this year, CTPSC helped drive meaningful impact by sponsoring the meals for over 150 volunteers working the Pop-Up Resource Clinic (PURC). Founded in 2017 by Captain Amber Price, the monthly clinics provide on-site social and medical services to individuals experiencing homelessness in Central Texas. With compassion at the heart of care, these vital services offer essential support to underserved communities.

“Thank you to the Central Texas Public Safety Commission for supporting our February Pop-Up Resource Clinic—your generosity helped fuel both our teams and our participants, allowing us to stay focused on meaningful interventions that truly make a difference.” - Captain Amber Price

We’re proud to support this important initiative! Thank you, Captain Price, for all that you to serve your community!
