Older Scout Roundtable: Special Needs Scouting discussion


Have a Scout that wants to participate fully and be respected like every other member of the unit and they have special needs or disabilities? Do you know what resources are available? Do you have questions on how Scouting meets the needs of older Scouts with special needs or disabilities? Do you know what the Inclusion Toolbox is - do you want to?

See you August 22 at 7:00PM on Zoom for the Older Scout Leader Roundtable, Bring your questions since Alyssa Hightower, a member of Scouting's National Special Needs and Disabilities Committee, is coming to talk to us about resources specific to older Scouts, fun adventures that are available, and any questions you may have.

Do you know a Scouter who is deserving of recognition for being special? Do they qualify for either of these or other awards? If so, see our Council Awards page to nominate an adult for one of the following honors:

The Torch of Gold Award is for adults for exceptional service and leadership working with Scouts with special needs.

The Duty to God Award is to recognize adult Scouters who have demonstrated leadership in supporting and promoting the spiritual foundation of Scouting.
