The wait is over. Today, the beehives of the future arrived. Taking by storm, alongside .ulmer from The Healthy Hive Foundation and UT Austinโ€™s renowned professor Danelle Briscoe, for its unveiling. Weโ€™re so grateful to share this experience to discover the ideas developed by UT Austinโ€™s architecture students to address the beeโ€™s biggest problem: extinction.

We're still celebrating Black History Month by sharing what's great about some of the Black-owned brands you can find at the co-op!

Mikaila started her lemonade journey at the age of 4 when she discovered her love of bees. ๐Ÿ At the encouragement of her supportive parents, Mikaila entered a children's business competition using her great-grandma's favorite recipe for flaxseed lemonade. She gave the recipe her own twist by using honey instead of sugar, and Me & the Bees Lemonade was born! ๐Ÿฏ

Now, more than 10 years later, this family-owned business is thriving, with their tasty beverages sold in stores across the country. Mikaila has also started a nonprofit, The Healthy Hive Foundation, dedicated to preserving the habitats of her beloved pollinators, and published her first book, Bee Fearless, Dream Like a Kid. Talk about a busy bee! ๐Ÿคธ

Grab a bottle of Me and the Bees lemonade from our refrigerated beverages section and try it for yourself. ๐Ÿ

Last week, we had the privilege of visiting Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas to donate a handful of our collaborative Bee Boxes from Whole Kids Foundation and HHF. Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas โ€™s mission is simple: to keep families close and cared for while their children undergo hospital stays at Central Texas hospitals. HHF donated these boxes in the hopes to give families and children the space to learn and try new things while they look after their loved ones. Hoping that it can bring a smile to their face to taste sweet honey and see the beauty in pollinators. If you would like to join them in their mission, RMHC CTX is always accepting volunteers to assist with meal prep and Happy Wheels Carts, as well as donations for the ever-growing need in care and support. To learn more, visit the HHF blog or https://rmhc-ctx.org/about-us/.

In this season of giving and gratitude, the Healthy Hive Foundation expresses our genuine thanks for all of the support we receive throughout the year. From our donors, to everyone we have the privilege of interacting with during programs and events, you all make our impact possible. This year has marked some of the greatest outreach yet from teaming up with H-E-B and Round Rock Honey Company to provide free educational programs to our Texas communities, partnering with Whole Kids Foundation and The Bee Cause Project to provide educational materials to 10 schools across the country, working with the University of Texas School of Architecture and Team One to create a SXSW panel centered in ingenuity and design of modern bee hives, among many other partnerships that we are so proud of. Weโ€™ve been able to reach over 8,000 middle school and university students and community members across the United States and Kenya - sharing our mission of bee conservation, education, and inspiring youth entrepreneurship thanks to our generous donors, grants, and continuous support.

Today on Giving Tuesday, we greatly appreciate your donations which help fund our mission. In any quantity, your support helps us to reach even more students and communities and enables us to provide more opportunities for educating and more donations to research centered in pollinator conservation. Together, we can inspire positive change and innovation in our beautiful, evolving world. Thank you so much for being an irreplaceable part of our mission.

Happy Thanksgiving yโ€™all! We hope today is full of gratitude and hope for all beings, including bees of course! to the bees who work so hard to pollinate our crops, including a few holiday favorites such as pumpkins and apples for delicious pies, cranberries, brussels sprouts and carrots! Pollinators are also needed for all of our favorite spices - from cinnamon and nutmeg to thyme, oregano and rosemary. Comment what pollinated food you are ! ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿฅ”๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฅฆ๐Ÿฅ•๐Ÿ
