The Austin community needs to be more informed about Fentanyl. In the recent interview series by Foundation for a Drug-Free World - Austin Chapter on Keilah Radio 106.5 FM, this critical issue was addressed in depth.

Too many families have lost their loved ones prematurely, and it’s a loss that could have been prevented! 💔

Now is the time to take action, educate ourselves, and protect our youth from this very real and devastating threat. Knowledge is our most powerful tool to combat this epidemic. Together, we can make a difference. 💪

Drug-Free World Austin in New Orleans for Super Bowl Weekend! 🏈🌟

What a team effort! 💪 For three weeks leading up to the game, dedicated volunteers were already hard at work, preparing and distributing Truth About Drugs booklets across the city. Then, our Austin team came in to support the final push, and together, we made it happen!

With 22 extraordinary volunteers on the ground for two intense days, we exceeded our goal—reaching 357,526 booklets distributed (beyond the 350,000 target)! 🎉👏

A massive thank you to everyone who played a part—this was a true team victory in bringing the Truth About Drugs to thousands! 💙

We just completed our last program for 2024 on Keilah Radio 106.5 FM! This time, we focused on the dangers of consuming ma*****na, a topic that deeply affects our children and their futures.

A huge thank you to our presenter, Juan Mejías, for delivering such an impactful message on “Las Tardes en Keilah Radio”, and to Margarita Orozco for inviting us every month to address these critical issues.

Together, we are raising awareness and working to protect the innocence and well-being of our youth. 🌟

Stay tuned for more programs in 2025 as we continue the fight against substance abuse in our community.

🎄Our last school event for 2024 was a huge success! We were thrilled to participate in the Dell Children’s Health Jingle Bell Bash, where we connected with countless families in our community.

At our booth, both kids and parents eagerly received Truth About Drugs educational booklets and took a stand by signing the Drug-Free Pledge. It was inspiring to see so many families united in their commitment to a healthier, drug-free future!

A heartfelt thank you to Dell Children’s Health Plan for this incredible initiative and for inviting us to be part of such a meaningful event. Together, we are making a real difference!

This past Saturday, December 14th, we were proud to participate in the 8th Annual Burnet Holiday Fair, a school-based event organized by AVEY. The holiday-themed fair was full of resources for the community, including toys for children provided by Toys for Tots.

📚 At our Truth About Drugs booth, we had an amazing turnout!
✅ 215 people visited our table
✅ We distributed a total of 651 booklets.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by and to AVEY for organizing such a fantastic community event!
Together, we’re making a difference by bringing vital drug education resources to families in our area.

Drug abuse has come to many of our doorsteps. A way to prevent it can come to the same place. Just order your free Truth About Drugs kit. What an amazing two-hour event at the Autumn Carnival at the Virginia L. Brown Recreation Center! 🎉 It was small but so effective! Huge thanks to our gold team, Cathy Norman and Don Ballard, for making it happen. 💛 We connected with 134 people and handed out 149 booklets. Even got some exciting reaches.

A DEADLY WHITE POWDER
Co***ne is one of the most dangerous drugs known to man. Once a person begins taking the drug, it has proven almost impossible to become free of its grip physically and mentally. Physically it stimulates key receptors (nerve endings that sense changes in the body) within the brain that, in turn, create a euphoria to which users quickly develop a tolerance. Only higher dosages and more frequent use can bring about the same effect.

Harvest Fest was a HUGE success for the Foundation for a Drug-Free World – Austin Chapter!

We were thrilled to be at the festival, spreading the Truth About Drugs campaign. Thanks to our amazing team, we distributed 868 booklets and connected with 265 people who are now more aware and empowered to live drug-free! 🙌
Even getting the Riverbat, the official mascot of Austin Community College Bat City, to sign the pledge! 😄
