Please join the archdiocese in a conversation via ZOOM on RACE and SOCIAL JUSTICE. Our goal is to humanize the issue at hand, share what we have done, and importantly create a BRAVE SPACE for you to share your questions, comments and feelings around the recent events shaping our communities. Most importantly, we will gather as one body to pray for discernment and healing for all who are oppressed, especially our black community.

We kindly ask that you take a picture of the QR code or point your browser to https://tinyurl.com/MGSOSATownHall-7-3-2020 to register. ALL ARE WELCOME!

On Sunday, May 10th, with the blessings of our Archbishop, H.E. Mor Titus Yeldho, in the presence of Vicar Fr. Binu Thomas, Asst. Vicar Fr. Martin, Board of Trustees, and church members, St. Mary’s Malankara Jacobite Syriac Orthodox Church of Carrollton, TX launched its COVID-19 Community Relief Project. With the efforts of many members and young adults, the church will support our less fortunate families in the DFW Metroplex struggling due to loss of job, sickness an opportunity to keep their families fed. The project team members will provide 2 weeks of groceries for families in need affected by COVID-19. We have started a community outreach program through social media for contributions and funding. With the use of a public website and contact information provided, people in need can reach out to our team for help.

Our goal is to feed at least 80 families with basic groceries for 2 weeks. Those who are in need and have contacted us can get access to groceries through a curb-side trunk drop-off drive-thru at our church in Carrollton. We will also provide contactless delivery of groceries to families upon request. As safety is our biggest concern, our team will be following and practicing all of the recommended safety precautions set by the CDC.

We need your help to provide relief to our community members! You can donate towards our cause or volunteer in other ways by visiting our website at www.smyam.com. Another effective way to support this cause is by spreading the word to your friends, families, co-workers, colleagues, or anyone you know who is in need and can benefit from this relief. Any amount you provide will shine a light on a special family who is facing hard times. You can contact a fellow member of St. Mary’s Church, including our core planning team members, or send an email to [email protected].

We ask that you keep the church, this project, the team members, leaders, families, as well as any individuals involved in your prayers as we combat the difficult moments of this pandemic. Let’s work together, while being apart, to help our fellow neighbors who are struggling and facing hardships for the glory of God!

Through the support of donations, we are a group of church volunteers packing & distributing emergency food boxes to families in the Dallas, Collin, & Denton Regions.
