Heritage Oaks Park in SRCC Area 7 will soon boast a “Nature Play” area! Provided by Austin Parks and Rec, the area incorporates items of nature into underutilized areas of park space for play, learning and interaction. The areas often include tree pieces, stones and other natural items. These areas serve to better connect all of us to nature. The area should be completed I about 2 months, so get ready to play!

If you haven’t yet included Heritage Oaks Park in your neighborhood walks, it is a lovely destination with an amazing viewpoint of sunsets.

Please join us for a morning in Stacy Park in memory of Jean Mather, our wonderful friend and neighbor and all-around hero for the community.

We’ll be meeting on Saturday, February 1st, and will spend the time picking up trash and removing exotic plants in the park. Please meet us at the main entrance to Travis Heights Elementary School, 2010 Alameda, at 8:30am, and we’ll head on into the Park from there. We’ll bring the tools and gloves for you, but would just ask that you wear closed-toe shoes and long pants, and bring a hat and a bottle of water.

If you can come along, please register here so we’ll know who to expect:
