Northwest Austin Rotary Club

Northwest Austin Rotary Club We meet every Friday at 7:00am at the Hilton Garden Inn, 11617 Research Blvd. Come visit to see if Rotary is right for you!

Northwest Austin Rotarians practice the Rotary International motto of "Service Above Self" by supporting a variety of humanitarian projects, both local and international. Some of the projects we support include Rotary Youth Exchange programs, ShelterBox, PETS (Personal Energy Transportation System), the Wheelchair Foundation, Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) camp, Libraries of Love, Bluebonnet

Trails MHMR, and programs for Austin-area senior citizens. We give a number of college scholarships as well as teacher and paraprofessional awards each spring.

100% of the funds supporting these efforts are generated by a fall fruit sale.

Today we pause to honor the men and women who gave everything in service to our country. Their sacrifice reminds us what it truly means to serve others.

This morning, members of the Rotary Club of Northwest Austin volunteered with Hope Austin and packed **500 bags of food in under an hour**!

Each bag helps provide food support for local students and families, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside an organization doing such important work in our community.

Service above self in action!

What an incredible morning at Hart Elementary yesterday! We had the honor of watching students earn their knighthood at the Early Act First Knight ceremony — young people who are learning to lead with character, compassion, and service.

This program, sponsored by area Rotary Clubs including the Rotary Club of Northwest Austin, is proof that investing in our youth pays dividends for the whole community. We couldn't be prouder.

Tomorrow we head to Hart Elementary for the Early Act First Knight Knighting Ceremony — one of our favorite events of the year.
EAFK is a Rotary-sponsored character-building program that teaches K-5 students to live by the Four Way Test, earn recognition for noble service, and discover what it means to serve others. 100% of participating campuses report improved academic performance and fewer behavioral incidents.
Come cheer on the next generation of servant leaders with us!

The Rotary Club of San Ignacio, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Northwest Austin, Texas, is proud to launch the “Period with Dignity” initiative—an important step toward supporting adolescent girls in the Cayo District with greater confidence, access, and care.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Education, 2,803 female students attended high school in the Cayo District during the 2022–2023 school year. For many of these young women, menstrual health remains a barrier to education, emotional well-being, and personal dignity. Limited access to sanitary products, combined with shame and self-consciousness, often results in school absences and unnecessary emotional distress. Too many girls are left to manage their periods silently, without the tools or support they need.

The Period with Dignity Project tackles these challenges directly by:
🔹 Installing pad vending machines at six high schools in the Cayo District
🔹 Providing students with affordable sanitary products
🔹 Offering menstrual hygiene education to build a culture of awareness, confidence, and respect
🔹 Supporting improved school attendance and overall well-being

This project proudly benefits the following schools:
• Alvin L. Young High School
• Mount Carmel High School
• Eden SDA High School
• St. Ignatius High School

Together, we are working to ensure that no girl misses school, opportunities, or confidence because of her menstrual cycle.
