We envision a world where everyone’s needs matter and people use their power to foster connection, build collaborative communities, and address differences peacefully. The Center for Nonviolent Communication (CNVC) is a global organization that supports the learning and sharing of NVC, and helps people peacefully and effectively resolve conflicts in personal, organizational, and political settings.

What if the most important lesson you ever taught had nothing to do with your subject?

Teachers carry an extraordinary weight: the work itself, the needs of the room, the pressure of systems rarely designed with either teacher or child in mind.

And very few training programmes ask the foundational question: How are you? Not professionally. Actually.

Nonviolent Communication (NVC) begins with self-connection the practice of turning toward your own feelings and needs with honesty and without judgment. For educators, this is not a luxury. It is what makes everything else sustainable.

When you can recognise your own depletion before it becomes exhaustion, you have more to offer. When you can identify the unmet need beneath a student's difficult behaviour and your own reaction to it you have options beyond the usual responses.

At IIT India 2027, Anisha Pandya and Stephanie Bachmann Mattei bring particular depth to the application of NVC in educational and facilitation contexts exploring how the inner practice of self-connection translates into the outer practice of creating genuinely safe spaces for learning.

This is continuing professional development that starts from the inside.

What changes when children, caregivers, and guides are met with listening instead of fixing?

At the International Intensive Training in Nonviolent Communication in Slovenia, we will slow conversations down enough for everyone’s voice to matter, especially in families, where emotions often arrive before words.

In this shared learning space, we will practice speaking needs clearly, hearing feelings beneath behavior, and responding with steadiness rather than reaction.
Not as a technique but as a way of relating that children can feel and adults can trust.

Held in community and supported by nature, this 9-day immersive training invites deeper understanding across generations, and communication that strengthens connection at home and within ourselves.

WEEK 4
Inclusion Creates Stronger Communities

Inclusion is not charity. It is community-building. When everyone contributes, we create stronger families, better schools, healthier, compassionate societies.

Marie-Laure Monens de Hase says in our difference lives a wisdom none of us could find alone.

Reflection
Diversity brings strength.
Inclusion transforms that strength into connection.
Communities flourish when every person is welcomed as a valued member, not an outsider.

Key Takeaway
When everyone belongs, everyone grows.

Question for All.
What kind of community are we creating when no one is left behind?

What begins within us doesn’t have to stay there.

IIT China 2026 - From Self to World invites a global community into a 9-day residential immersion where inner awareness meets collective responsibility. Rooted in years of practice, experimentation, and service, this training carries NVC from personal insight into real-world application.

This gathering marks a meaningful moment in China’s NVC journey, sharing what has been cultivated locally while learning together across cultures, languages, and lived realities. Through dialogue, embodied practice, and community living, we will explore how compassion can move from the heart into systems, projects, and social action.

✨ Learn and practice NVC in a bilingual environment
✨ Engage with diverse perspectives from around the world
✨ Experience NVC as a living, evolving practice
