We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to present at the 2026 Black Mamas ATX Summit 🧡
A special thank you to Black Mamas ATX for welcoming us to share our presentation, Protecting Two Lives: Over-the-Counter Medication Usage in Pregnancy and Understanding Tylenol.
Third-year pharmacy students Christian James, Renelle Rushatsi, and Samuel Liaw were honored to lead this educational session focused on safe over-the-counter (OTC) medication use during pregnancy, with special emphasis on acetaminophen (Tylenol).
Our goal was to provide clear, evidence-based guidance on commonly used OTC products, helping mothers feel more confident in making informed decisions for themselves and their babies. We discussed when Tylenol may be appropriate to use, recommended dosing, current research surrounding safety, common misconceptions, medications to avoid, and when to seek guidance from a healthcare provider.
Collaborating with Black Mamas ATX to promote health literacy and deliver culturally responsive, accessible education was truly meaningful. Thank you for allowing us to contribute to conversations that support safer medication use and healthier outcomes for mothers and babies.
