Happy Graduation season!!! 👩‍🎓 🧑‍🎓 👨‍🎓

Enzo is modeling a cap and stole made by our AGPR kindergarten graduate, Charlotte (highly recommend the book if you have a piggy loving kindergartener in your life!). Congratulations, C! 🤩

Congratulations also to Gengi’s foster mom, Mary, who just graduated from dental hygiene school after lots of long nights studying! It’s an intense program! 🥳

Leave your shout outs below! 😊

Thankful Thursday!

Groucho, now Eugene, is having a blast with his new buddy! Here is what his family says:

"The piggies are getting along so well and they officially share a home full-time!

Eugene is such a gentle, patient, and calm guy. He wheeks for his bell peppers and hay, where he particularly enjoys the flowers. He spends his evenings cuddled in his hammock and days running around (but mostly eating) in his playpen with his annoying teenage sister."

Enjoy this cute video! Congratulations on your adoption, Eugene/Groucho!

Teach Me Tuesday!

Gucci has some patchy hair loss on her flanks that is caused by ovarian cysts. There are some other causes of hair loss in guinea pigs, too. Read on to find more from The Spruce Pets!

"If a guinea pig is losing hair, the first sign you may see is heavy shedding. When you are playing with, holding, and petting your guinea pig, more fur will be left on you and the ground than usual from your guinea pig. You may also see excessive amounts of fur in their cage. Eventually their hair coat won't be as thick as it used to be and you will see bald patches on the skin.

Causes of Hair Loss
Hair loss in guinea pigs can be self-induced or non-self-induced. Self-induced hair loss occurs when a guinea pig itches or chews its hair due to an underlying issue, while non-self-induced hair loss happens without such actions.

Mite infestation
Lice infestation
Ringworm (fungal) infection
Barbering (chewing hair)
Ovarian cysts1
Hyperthyroidism
Scurvy (vitamin C deficiency)
Cushing's disease
Pregnancy
Postpartum
Cutaneous lymphoma"

Meet Me Monday! 😍

We have a sweet pair of seniors looking for a home. ❤ Guinea pigs usually live 6-8 years so these ladies may have several wonderful years of snuggles left. Snickers is the tricolor and Cow is black and white. They are doing well with the children in their foster family and are learning to love veggies. If you have a heart for the oldies, these healthy girls are looking for a forever home in their golden years! 🥰

Say Hi Saturday! 🤗

Hi there! We are a handsome male duo named Eugene and Lemuel. 😍 Eugene was in foster first and it took awhile to find him a friend. He was just waiting for me, his perfect match in both personality and looks! Aren't we just the most gorgeous pair?? We are your typical boy pigs, love to eat alllll the veggies! 😋

We are looking for a forever home where we will be loved, get lots of floor time, and of course have free access to the fridge. (Wait, we aren't supposed to say that last part out loud...) But yes, please feed us! We aren't picky at all and will reward you with happy wheeks! If you are looking for us to light up your life, put in an application today!

Thankful Thursday!

Pinky and Panini's new family says they are doing great!

"They have come out of their shells so much and are so funny. Pinky is definitely the boss but Panini does the talking. She is the alarm when the fridge opens to let me know they would like a little something from their salad bowl. My old lady dog Jolene comes and gets me every time they make noise, she seems very concerned something may be wrong and I should check on them. Or they are all working together for snacks, a distinct possibility. They love their bat & pumpkin beds and are often in them together. They are very loved - thank you for connecting us!"

Congratulations on your adoption, girls!
