Resets don’t have to be complicated. Give me water. 🌊

For those who spend their days responding, serving, helping, and carrying a lot, sometimes an intentional day away is exactly what’s needed.

We were honored to partner with Centurion Boats, two days before the World Series of Wake Surfing in Winter Haven, FL, to give first responders, military members, and frontline workers the opportunity to do just that - spend a day on the water.

No agenda. No expectations. Just sunshine, water, movement, laughter, connection, and the freedom to simply enjoy the moment.

And there’s science behind the feeling. Intentional time in nature and on the water, combined with movement, social connection, and moments of awe, can create conditions that help the body and mind reset and recalibrate.

That’s part of why we do what we do at Operation Get Out. We create intentional, evidence-informed experiences that give people space to step away from the routine, reconnect, find renewed perspective through the changing tides of life, and make room for what comes next.

Sometimes the reset really is that simple.

Get Out Girl Surf & Paddle Jam on Lake Austin gave us a weekend to definitely carry home. 💙

In its 13th year, the largest all-female surf & paddle event in the U.S. brought women of every experience level together for wakesurfing, paddleboarding, kayaking & the moments in between. There were first rides met with cheers, quiet stretches of water to exhale & new friends beside us to find connection on the lake.

We gathered in honor of Kristin McLain, a STAR Flight rescue nurse, and Jessica Hollis, a Travis County Sheriff’s Deputy. They knew how much being outdoors and on the water could mean after pouring into others and then needing to reset after tough days. Their memory continues to guide Operation Get Out as we use evidence based ‘Blue Mind’ science to provide connection and renewed possibilities for individuals and organizations navigating life’s changing tides.

This weekend also helps create sponsored opportunities on the water for individuals who can use the support to experience it, including female first responders, nurses, military & other frontline heroes. To every participant, ambassador, boat captain, volunteer, sponsor & partner who made that possible: thank you.
You brought 💙 to every moment.

Get Out Girl Surf & Paddle Jam is Operation Get Out’s annual celebration of women, connection, movement, and the outdoors. For more than a decade, women of all ages and abilities have come together on the water - not to compete, but to get out, get active, get connected, and experience what happens when we intentionally make space for ourselves, for community, and for possibility.

It’s one of the ways Operation Get Out brings our mission to life: creating intentional, evidence-informed experiences in nature and on the water that help people navigate life’s changing tides through deeper connection, renewed perspective, greater meaning, and new possibilities.
