The Giving Tree of Central Texas

The Giving Tree of Central Texas The Giving Tree of Central Texas believes in supporting families and individuals in need. However, his ministry wasn’t over.

Our Story begins with our Founder David Vasquez’s life work, as Pastor of a Christian church in South Austin. Unfortunately, the pandemic caused our dear church to have to shut down its operation. With the help of his two eldest children, Bianca Vasquez Soto and David Vasquez Jr., they decided to continue his ministry through charitable work for the less fortunate. This is how The Giving Tree of T

exas was born. Our main focus is to help families in need, not only here in Austin but throughout Central Texas and beyond. Our goal is to continue this ministry for generations to come. Please contact us if you would like to volunteer service hours or make any donations. All donations are tax deductible as we are a registered 501(c) organization.

Today was a milestone moment for the Giving Tree of Central Texas as we celebrated our first ever recipients of the Bobby Soto Memorial Scholarship. These exceptional student athletes have not only excelled academically but have also demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship. Their hard work and dedication have truly set them apart.

We are incredibly proud of their achievements and are excited to see them embark on the next chapters of their journeys at their respective universities. Congratulations to Carson McMullin and Ryan Treviño, we wish you all the best in your future endeavors!

We are excited to announce that we have chosen our two scholarship honorees! One student was chosen from Crockett High School in Austin, Texas, the other student was chosen from Johnson High School in Buda, Texas. The selected individuals have been notified via email. Once they accept this honor and we meet with them to present their award and have their photos taken, we will share their names with all of you.

We received an overwhelming number of responses and had many amazing candidates. It was not an easy task to narrow it down to just two. We want to thank everyone who applied and wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

Thank you for your participation and support.

The months of September and October were dedicated to collecting play doh for two very special children’s hospitals in the Central Texas Area. Our San Antonio team did an amazing job collecting for Methodist Children’s Hospital and our Austin Team did the same for Dell Children’s hospital. Our very special Junior volunteers Sean and Sophia put in a lot of hard work as a tribute and way to honor their late father Jose Luis Davila which made it that much more special. At the Giving Tree we hope to continue to make positive impacts to our communities in different ways. We thank you for your generous contributions and support. 💚

Thank you to our amazing founders, board members, and volunteers for all of your help today. We truly believe it is better to give than to receive. Grateful for servant hearts like yours. Without you we wouldn’t be able to spread the love through our community.

Just a friendly reminder that we have a few short days remaining in the month of October and our Play Doh drive will come to an end. Thank you to those of you who have generously contributed to this fun cause! The patients and therapists at our chosen children’s hospitals will really benefit from your kindness. You can send monetary contributions via PayPal QR code on our flyer. You can also reach out to us to pick up in kind play doh donations. No donation is too small! We appreciate your support!

This Fall, The Giving Tree of Central Texas, will be accepting donations of Play-Doh to donate to two local Children’s Hospitals. Dell Children’s Hospital in Austin,TX as well as Methodist Children’s Hospital in San Antonio, TX. Play-Doh is a popular way for patients to stay busy during treatments and long stays. It also is beneficial to have on hand for Occupational Therapists working with children on fine motor skills or sensory processing disorders. Play-doh brings joy to patients and their families with visiting children. Please pass along to any friends, family, or businesses that may be interested in helping this great cause. As always, we appreciate all the support and kindness from our community.
