Filipino Young Professionals of Austin, Texas (FYP ATX) was founded spring 2017 as a social networking group and has since evolved into a nonprofit celebrating and strengthening Filipino identity through arts and culture, community service, networking, professional development, and youth mentorship. As Austin grows and diversifies, FYP ATX continues to adapt—responding to the community’s needs for

creative expression, cultural connection, professional and personal growth. Our mission is to empower the Filipino and Austin community through creative expression, leadership, and mentorship—infused with Filipino cultural values and perspectives. Through our programs, specifically our arts and culture initiatives, we create spaces that honor heritage, amplify underrepresented voices, and showcase the creativity of Filipino Americans and allies in Austin’s vibrant cultural landscape. PLAN YOUR PARKING FOR FRIDAY NIGHT

Heading to our 2nd Annual Philippine Independence Day and Austin Filipino American Day Celebration this Friday, June 12th?

Here is everything you need to know about parking and getting to the venue smoothly.

🚗 Parking Options:

Neighborhood Parking (Free): Free street parking is available throughout the surrounding neighborhood. Please be mindful of any residential permit signs to avoid getting ticketed or towed.

Midtown Medical Garage (Paid): You can use the parking garage located at 901 W 38th St Suite 300, Austin, TX 78705.

Reserve Parking Online: We highly recommend reserving your garage spot online in advance for around $10 using this link: https://tinyurl.com/peakparking

Ride Share Recommendation: Expecting a great turnout. We highly recommend carpooling or using rideshare apps like Uber or Lyft to drop you off right at the entrance.

Celebration starts at 5:30 PM, and our opening ceremonies kick off promptly at 6:00 PM with the national anthems. Give yourself a few extra minutes to park, check in, grab a raffle ticket, and find a good seat.

The countdown is officially ON. Can you believe our celebration is just around the corner this Friday? 🇵🇭

We are absolutely thrilled to announce the incredible lineup of special guests joining us to make this an unforgettable night:

Chef Christian Alquiza. You’ve seen him on Next Level Chef and the creator behind the mouth-watering Bastos Sauce. Get ready for some serious culinary magic.

Isabella Basco. One of our amazing FDM ATX alumni performers is returning to grace the stage and keep the energy high all night long as our evening’s Emcee.

Katrina Saporsantos and Lester Tanquilut. Prepare for goosebumps. Katrina will be belting out the US National Anthem, and then Lester will deliver a powerful performance of the Philippine National Anthem.

Austin Filipino Dance Troupe. Of course, the celebration wouldn’t be complete without our very own putting a traditional Tinikling performance.

You do not want to miss this incredible night of culture, community, food, and talent. Tag your friends, bring the family, and let’s celebrate.

Standing in Solidarity and Prayer with the Philippines 🇵🇭

We all woke up to news of the powerful earthquake that has struck General Santos City and the surrounding regions in the Philippines.

​While many of us are thousands of miles away, the ties that bind us to our homeland are unbreakable, especially for those who have family in the Mindanao region. When one part of our community hurts, we all feel the impact. We are checking in on our loved ones, sending our deepest prayers for safety, and standing in absolute solidarity with the resilient people of Mindanao and all those affected by this disaster.

​In moments of crisis, the true strength of the Filipino people has always been our Bayanihan spirit, our innate drive to lift each other up, coordinate support, and ensure that no one suffers in isolation.

As FYP ATX, we are working closely with our network to confirm vetted organizations where you can donate and support local relief efforts.

For now, we ask our ATX community to join us in keeping the victims, first responders, and families in your thoughts and prayers. If you have family in the affected areas, please know that your FYP ATX village is here to support you.​

Celebrate Philippine Independence Day and Austin Filipino American Day this June 12th! 🇵🇭✨

On June 12, 1898, General Emilio Aguinaldo declared independence from over 300 years of Spanish colonial rule.

This historic day marked the very first raising of the Philippine flag and the first playing of the national anthem, Lupang Hinirang.

While the journey to full sovereignty faced further challenges under American and Japanese rule, June 12 stands as a powerful symbol of the Filipino spirit, resilience, and the ongoing fight for self-determination.

We loved it so much the first time, we’re heading back for round two!

Join us for an afternoon of community service with Heartening! We had such an amazing time volunteering with their team during our last visit, and we can’t wait to check out their brand-new, expanded space. 🏢❤️

Volunteering together is the perfect way to give back, connect with fellow members, and make a real impact right here in Austin. Whether you joined us last time or this is your very first event, we would love to have you on the team!

We will be doingclothes sorting inside their zero-waste clothing warehouse! This hands-on activity directly keeps textiles out of landfills and helps get quality apparel to those who need it most. 🌎♻️
