If you didn’t already know today December 11th 2025 is Red Kettle Blitz Day! This is a friendly one day competition between all the Salvation Army units in Northern New England (we are competing against the other Maine units). The Salvation Army that raises the largest portion of their seasonal Red Kettle goal in this single day will be awarded an additional $3,000 grant that will be used to help support families and individuals in their community.

So if you can stop by one of our Red Kettle Buckets in the Augusta/Waterville area and make a donation today. Help Us Help Others all year-round!

Today is day 1 of Camp Out Hunger 2025, Central Maine’s Largest Food Drive to benefit The Salvation Army Capital Region, ME. Ourselves and all the great folks at Townsquare Media’s 92 Moose & B98.5, Central Maine's Country will be camped out here in the Sam's Club parking in Augusta, ME from now until Friday.

Come stop by with a non-perishable food or monetary donation to help us help others. We are serving more families and individuals than usual right now and we need your support!

We have added a final day for Christmas sign ups. If you live in Kennebec county and have not signed up through any other agency or program you are welcome to apply at our Augusta office tomorrow. Located at 36 Eastern Ave. 9am- 4:00pm.

You need to bring with you: proof of address, identification, and proof of the ages of the children you applying for.

We have free winter jackets, hats, & gloves for Kennebec County residents available at The Salvation Army Worship & Service Center at 36 Eastern Ave. Augusta, ME.

Items will be first come, first served available today 10/23 from 9a
-5:30pm & tomorrow 10/24 from 9am-7pm and then during normal office hours Mon, Wed, Thur, & Fri 9-12 & 1-2:30 Oct 27th-Nov 5th.

You will need to bring photo ID, proof of address, and proof of each person you are requesting items for who live in your household (such as birth certificates, MaineCare cards, a benefits letter, etc.) You will not be able to pick up items for people who do not live with you. Kennebec County case workers who can provide copies of the required information above may pick up items for their active clients.
