Over the past several days, Pastor Robert has continued traveling throughout Uganda, preaching, teaching, and encouraging pastors, church planters, and congregations across the region. From Fort Portal to the Kyaka II Refugee Settlement, God has continued to open doors for ministry in incredible ways. 🙏🏽🌍

While in Fort Portal, Robert spoke to 114 pastors and church planters representing 91 churches and more than 1,500 congregants across southwestern Uganda. He shared that Fort Portal had some of the coolest weather he has ever experienced anywhere in Africa — and the joyful welcome from local pastors and leaders made the experience even more memorable!

The ministry then continued in the Kyaka II Refugee Settlement after an early morning drive from Fort Portal. Robert preached in a Pentecostal church called Sychar — a name found in the Gospel of John near Jacob’s Well — which felt especially fitting in such a dry and difficult region. More than 300 people gathered together for worship, prayer, and teaching, worshipping with incredible joy and passion. Robert shared how amazed he continues to be by the strength and anointing God provides in moments of preaching and ministry, even through exhaustion and long travel days. This portion of the trip brought the team closest to the DRC border and the current Ebola outbreak region.

Robert is currently traveling home, and we ask you to continue covering him in prayer as he returns to the United States. Please pray for safe travels, smooth flights, protection from illness, and ease of entry through the enhanced Ebola screening procedures currently in place for travelers returning from the region. We also ask for continued prayer over Uganda and the DRC, for protection, healing, wisdom for healthcare workers and leaders, and peace for the communities affected by the outbreak. ❤️

Over the past few days, Robert has had the opportunity to witness God moving in powerful ways across Uganda. From encouraging pastors and ministry leaders in Adjumani, to reconnecting with longtime ministry partners, this trip has been a reminder of the beauty of the global Church and the next generation rising up to serve Christ. 🙏🏽🌍

One special moment from the trip so far was sharing dinner with an incredible family — Pastor Akili, his wife Grace, and their children Talia, Ian, and Nathan. Grace and Akili are the founders of Smiles of Hope African Ministries, serving in the Kyaka II refugee camp. Our organization first met Grace years ago in the DRC when she was just 15 years old, and it has been such a blessing to see how God is now using her and her generation for His Kingdom.

Robert also taught at a conference in Adjumani, bringing together 64 pastors representing more than 5,000 congregants. Pastor Justin and his wife Harriette led the gathering, encouraging and equipping leaders who are faithfully serving their communities and sharing the Gospel.

We know many have seen reports regarding the Ebola outbreak in the region. While precautions are being taken and the situation in Uganda is currently considered stable, we ask you to please continue praying for the people of Uganda and the DRC, for healing and protection over affected communities, and for wisdom for leaders and healthcare workers responding to the outbreak. Please also join us in specifically praying for Robert’s safety during the remainder of his trip and for smooth and easy entry back into the United States later this week. 🤍

Today, our president, Dr. Robert Williams, had the pleasure of presenting to David Echau Echonyu his certificate for Graduate studies in pastoral ministry, from Luther Rice College and Seminary. David completed his degree 100% online from Uganda. His ministry continues to grow throughout the region as he plants churches and trains pastors to share the Gospel with the people of Uganda. 🙏🏽

A message from David: “Thank you Dr. Robert L. Williams for representing the Board of trustees and the academic committee in awarding me this certificate. I feel honored and loved!  I dedicate this achievement to Pastor Robert and my wife Lydia and the president of Luther Rice College and Seminary. To God be the glory.”

Earlier this month, we had the incredible honor of hosting the annual National Day of Prayer Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast. 🇺🇸🙏🏽

Every year, this event serves as a powerful reminder of what can happen when leaders from across our community come together in unity and prayer for the CSRA, our state, and our nation. From elected officials and pastors to educators, healthcare leaders, business professionals, students, and volunteers — we are so grateful for each person who helped make this year’s breakfast so meaningful.

A special thank you to this year’s keynote speaker, Linda J. Dunikoski, for her inspiring message on the importance of investing in the next generation and the role that mentorship, leadership, and faith play in the future of our communities.

Thank you to all of our program participants, corporate sponsors, volunteers, and community partners who gave their time, talents, and support to make this event possible. We are truly blessed by the many individuals and organizations who continue to stand together in prayer and service. ❤️
