On another Community Grants site visit, our team got the chance to cheer on the incredible athletes of the Family YMCA of Greater Augusta Exceptional Sports program. We started off with some warmups, then a soccer scrimmage. Personalities ranged from super encouraging to the most competitive. The energy and support from all in attendance, parents, athletes, volunteers, and friends, was a reflection of the best part of our community…diversity!

A special THANK YOU to everyone who donated raffle prizes and speaker gifts for the 2026 Nonprofit Summit!

Because of your generosity, we were able to celebrate, encourage, and pour back into the nonprofit leaders who do so much for our community every day. We are so grateful for your support and partnership in making this event extra special.

May is National Foster Care Month! Our Community Grants site visit with Fostering The Family was everything if not inspirational. Not only does this organization offer the support of a full community to local foster families, a huge portion of their work throughout South Carolina is in preventing children from entering care in the first place by working to provide the same supports to kinship placements and family reunification efforts. Part of the morning was spent at Michael’s Room, a ministry of Fairview Presbyterian Church that works alongside Fostering the Family to provide essential items for children and families connected with DSS.

The team took a trip over to ARC and popped in on an Elevate Augusta class where students were on their 2nd lesson in workforce readiness, discussing cover letters. We heard from Teacher-Mentors about the ways the class has impacted the students directly. One student expressed that the exposure to mentors has been life-changing, while another shared that the non-judgmental support allows her to ask more questions and discover new things about herself.

The program teaches life skills through mentorship in a credit-earning classroom setting, then provides opportunities for students to practice those skills by serving as mentors themselves to students in local elementary and middle schools.

Next week, on May 12 at 8:30 am, our ImpactED Series is focused on Professional Development; bringing nonprofit leaders together to strengthen skills, share insights, and learn from one another.

ImpactED is more than a networking event. It’s a space where ideas are exchanged, partnerships are sparked, and leaders leave better equipped to serve our region.

Because when we invest in leadership, we elevate the entire nonprofit community.

Join us as we continue building connections that move the CSRA forward.

There’s something special happening behind the curtain at Enopion Theatre Company.

This week, we had the chance to step inside their world for a site visit—and what an experience it was. From their charming puppet theater to the incredible behind-the-scenes look at props and costumes, every detail reflects creativity, passion, and a deep commitment to storytelling.

It’s not just about putting on a show—it’s about creating moments of wonder for our community, especially for young audiences experiencing theater for the first time.

We’re proud to support organizations like Enopion that are bringing imagination to life right here in the CSRA.
