There are days when we can get overwhelmed, fatigued, or activated. All of this leads to disregulation. When we are disregualted, we can become irritable, emotionally explosive, or even closed off.

So, instead of becoming disregulated and not knowing what to do, ask yourself what you need in the moment?

It might be:
-telling your partner you need to lay down & some space
-getting outside to soak up some sunshine or hear birds chirp
-feeling your feet on the grass
-taking a bath
-etc.

Find what you need in the moment.

If you need help, we’d be happy to recommend some wonderful counselors and coaches.

Whether you are currently in counseling or just considering the possibility of counseling, we wanted to send some encouragement your way today.

Counseling can be a daunting experience. That, in itself, is a normal feeling.

However, if you find the counselor that is the right fit for you, your counseling experience can be wonderful. Counseling is meant to encourage you, challenge you, guide you in changing old habits and behaviors, and make you feel comfortable to express emotions and ask questions.

You can do this, friend!

Grief. Few times it can be anticipated, but mostly it comes unexpectedly.
Death of a loved one is the #1 cause of grief.
However, you have permission to grieve when things in life change. Outside of our own actions, words, and emotions, we have no control.

And, while it is ok to grieve the change, remember there is One who has a plan for your life and future (Jeremiah 29:11). You can rest in that.

There is hope amidst the grief!

Exercise is not just for weight loss. It is great for your mental health also!

The great thing is: there’s a workout for everyone! You can find workouts that boost your mental health and make you physically stronger, more flexible, or just feeling good.

If you don’t know where to start, you can call your local gym or a licensed *certified* coach to help you.

Some easy ways to get started:
-phone a friend to go on a walk
-throw the ball in the yard with your kiddo (or your pup)
-stretch
-try out a workout class at your local gym (some gyms have day passes or 30-day trials)

If you live in the Augusta area, try out or for some great classes and meet even better people.

You can do this, friend!

Asking for help is one of the bravest things you can do.
We’ve said it before (and we’ll continue to say it): It is not weak to seek help. It’s huge to say that you can’t do this alone. And, the best part is, it’s amazing to have a community to support, love, and encourage you on your healing journey.

It’s not too late.
Find your safe space, “no judgment” people.
And, begin growing & healing.

You are loved and you belong here.

Here’s the deal: avoiding things can lead to deeper issues and/or increase your anxiety & depressive symptoms.

If you can release your emotions attached to your traumas, the healthier your mind and body can become.

You hold the responsibility over your actions. What will you do to become a healthier version on you?

Flashbacks: memories from past traumatic events that feel as though they are happening in real time. (An effect of PTSD).

Let me be very clear. Your traumas are real. Sexual assault, physical attacks, betrayal/infidelity, war, car accidents, and so much more.

We wanted to offer you some affirmations you can tell yourself when you are in the midst of a flashback.

Are you willing to try these? Or have you tried any of these?

Are there any “justice seekers” out there?
Sometimes we just need a gentle reminder of what is our responsibility and what is not.

While we want the proper steps & actions to be taken, remember that God is the only One who has the bigger picture. You are in control of your walk.

It can be frustrating sometimes, but it feels really good to release what’s not in your control!

I love what says here! Don’t let your feelings boss you around!

Self-control: a fruit of the Spirit. While it is a blessing from the Lord, it can be hard to put into practice sometimes. But, practice makes better.

Do you need a little practice? Your opportunity might be closer than you think.

Anxiety can be crippling. Do you need help shaking those anxious thoughts?

We’ve given just a few statements to do just that. We know it’s not always that simple, but we hope you’ll trust yourself & trust the process.

Do you think you could use any of these to help?

Self care is ok! Did you know that if you take care of yourself, you can care more effectively for others?

We are a society that is always “busy.” So here’s the challenge: find an hour this week to devote to yourself. An hour that doesn’t involve work, chores, errands, school, etc.

Call it: the weekly reset.
You’ve got 52 opportunities. 52 out of 8,760 hours over the next year to care for YOU. You can do this.
